We did the party last year on 10/25 and were in shorts and t-shirts until the very end. We were never cold and I was so glad that we were in tees. The year before had been warm in mid-Oct so I learned my lesson.
Ive lived in AZ my entire life... 33 years long! I was fine. I guess it depends on what you think is HOT... this past week we hit 115 degrees. Now that is hot. mid 80s and some humidity does not scare me. We have humidity in Aug-Sept from monsoon season. I guess well see how HOT it gets in FL. Were going to the MNSSHP Oct 4th.
All depends on what the weather will be. Only way I know is to plan a costume with layers that you can take off or add according to the temp that particular night. Three years ago at MNSSHP there was RECORD heat and that night was miserable ( but crowds were wonderful!) Two years ago weather was wonderful but crowds were horrible. I remember seeing so many little girls in full princess dresses that were sweltering!
We went last year late October and dd wore her Belle dress three days that trip including the party snd she was fine. The rest of us wore Halloween tshirts.
I thought it would be fun to wear leather lederhosen. I was fine for about an hour then I started to swell in the heat. I had a hard time getting them off after the party.
We have done 5 parties, all in mid Sept. My boys have been in costume every year (wolverine, buzz, jack sparrow, storm troopers, bounty hunters, lord voldemort, Harry Potter) and we have been in full costumes 4 times (Alice/Hatter, Jack/Sally, Pirates, Meg/Hercules) Bottome line-being in costume is great, it is very warm till sunset then it is fine (fine, not cool). In Sept you could go as the cast of Baywatch and still be hot...Orlando+Sept+humidity=hot no two ways around it. Go in costume-way more fun that halloween shirts
