MNSSHP costumes- please post pictures

We're going for the first time this year and I've got our costumes lined up, just need to procure them!

I will be going as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, DH will be Ferb, DS will be Phineas, and DD will be Candace! I already have DS's clothes for Phineas and the white skirt for DD. Just have to find a yellow sweatervest and a pink tank top!

We are going to our first MNSSHP in September. I have no idea what we are going as. Like I said in another post all our costumes we have at home are suitable to be worn over a snowsuit:lmao:

I was thinking of having the 3 boys dress up as soccer players (easy, just use thier uniforms) and dd & I cheerleaders. However I'm a hard time finding an adult costume that is not um....how do I say this nicely...trashy:confused3:lmao:

Here is a photo of our costumes from 2008. They use something called EL Wire (EL for Electroluminescent). We had battery packs on our feet, our waists, and our heads. We got a little mobbed a few times and had to hide once or twice but had the most incredible night!

AWESOME !!!!

We went as Ghost Busters and it was amazing.

From the minute we left the room we had shouts of " Who ye gonnae call " and other guest asking for pictures.
The CM and character interaction was brilliant...Haunted Mansion was just too funny !!

I went 2 years ago with a friend of mine as Belle.

It was so much fun. My friend was regretting a bit that she didn't get dressed up. I had some great interaction with Cinderella's stepsisters and Lady Tremaine.

I have a new idea for this year, I just have to see if my sewing skills are up to par.

We have been doing these costumes for several years. Hopefully we'll be back this year.

I just have to tell you, I've seen your pictures in a few places around the internet and they are just amazing!

That's the most awesome night costume I have ever seen!!!

No MNSSHP for us this year  but we're having a huge "Hocus Pocus" Halloween Party at home instead! Me, DD and her BFF are playing the Sanderson Sisters - love that movie.

Have fun at MNSSHP!

We made them ourselves!... spent months sewing and soldiering I'm embarrassed to admit. ;)

Here's more information in a trip report at another site: http://micechat.com/forums/walt-disney-world-resort/106760-our-mnsshp-costume-extravaganza.html

The Haunted Mansion spook group and the Ghostbuster family are both some of my faves!

LOL - I'll check that link out, thanks for posting!

I did a search for "el wire mickey costumes" and came across a link with your photos. What an amazing job! Talk about creativity and talent! :goodvibes

I just finished watching the video you put together.

Ohh, I am so telling my husband he has a new project for the next 4 months!

edited - I think the other post is answering some questions...

In the photo, I see the batteries and power inverters, but what are the those other 5 black items to the left, beside the cardboard box?

How heavy / tiring was it carrying all those items on your clothing/body?

We went to MNSSHP during our honeymoon last year, and we didn't want to dress up in full costume, but we wanted to do something. We decided to go as Lady and the Tramp. I made shirts with Lady and the Tramp on them and pasted images of the Mickey bride and groom ears on their heads along with "JUST MARRIED". I also found a little Tramp hat for my DH!! Of course, we had dinner at Tony's! Our waitress was really excited when I ordered something with noodles in it so we could do "the pose".

Wow, this thread is getting me really excited! I'll be on a girls-only trip in October and will be doing MNSSHP for the first time! We're going to dress up, but not sure in what yet. My friends want me to be Alice in Wonderland, because I apparantly bear a very striking resemblance (according to my one friend), but I think that would either be expensive or time consuming. (And maybe hot, as we'll be there the first weekend of October.) I was thinking of going as a fairy, as I can wear something that won't make me sweat too much.

It's actually not a costume... it's a combination of the right clothes. I found the perfect shirt at Old Navy, the blue shorts at Target. I'm really thinking about getting him some Chuck Taylors, but I'm not sold yet. Hang on, let me get a picture off my phone.

Bonus is all of the clothes are cotton, so he'll be cool in the heat!

I love this thread! Halloween is one of my favorite times and I would love to attend MNSSHP one year. Love all the costumes!

The MiceChat post is identical to the blog post you found. I didn't link to the blog post because the blog includes images and/or content that some may think is not work or child-appropriate.

The five black items to the left are also battery packs. Those each held eight AA's and were for our bodies which required the most power. The smaller ones just held two AA's and were for each foot and the hat.

The body battery pack was a little hefty with eight AA's but they were pocketable so no big deal. The hat batteries hanged around our necks and were hidden underneath the backsides of our t-shirts. The foot packs were strapped on our ankles and hidden behind black socks. Once we were out and about we were totally footloose and fancy-free. No restrictions. Other than the fact we were an annoying light source on dark rides. hehehehe

Do you buy these online? Rent them? Make them yourselves? I'm thinking DH and I would LOVE to dress up with DD (well, I would love to and DH will go along with it, LOL:rotfl::rotfl:) I'm just wondering WHERE to get costumes from!!!!!
