My will-be husband and I are going to WDW in October for our honeymoon, and will be going to MNSSHP one night. We were wondering about costumes. I know people go all out, but how scary do they get? We were thinking of doing zombies of some sort, but I don't want to scare any children. For those of you who have been, what is the scariest costume you have seen? pirate:

It's called Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for a reason. ;) I wouldn't do zombies.

Scary costumes would be inappropriate. That said, there will be people there dressed as such, so you just need to decide if you want to be one of them and potentially scaring children.

A good rule of thumb is not to exceed the standards that Disney seems to have set for themselves. A zombie, in and of itself, should be fine, considering some of the Disney-approved entertainment for the night. A zombie with missing limbs, exposed organs, and attacking children might be perceived as excessive.

I just see pictures of people like this from the party, so this would be about what we were thinking of. Nothing all "blood and guts" like!

I'd do it at that level. Not too much difference between that & Jack/Sally.

Just an FYI, the people in this photo are entertainment CMs in the parade.

I didn't expect to but I scared people in my costume last year. I went as the wicked witch of the west. I'd say if you think its appropriate go and i have seen zombies, keep it lighter then usual. But be prepared to show kids its makeup and talk to them so they know you aren't scary that's what I had to do. And I did have one parent get angry with me because of my costume.

I dressed like this for the party one year and had no problems at all. The makeup got a little old after a while (I used full-face stage makeup and it sweats in the Florida humidity) but other than that it was great

Keep it simple and you should be fine. After all, the parade starts with the headless horseman,or at least it did last trip we were there for that

We are goign as Pirates - we found a REALLY easy costume idea on pinterest - white t-shirts cut, with black shorts or capris (depends on weather) and red sahes. I will be putting eyelets in mine and threading a thin leather cord through - shoudl be fun!
