I've been searching ebay and finding cute things (but i'm still in a size 14-16, so i'm limited now, and who knows how small i can get before my trip...ugh frustrating having to wait)

Everything i'm finding seems HOT HOT HOT. Isnt Oct still HOT? Esp when were going, Oct 5th?

I'm from TX and its hit or miss, but mostly HOT lol!

We went mid-October last year and it was hot. DH just wore a polo & shorts. I wore a long sleeved Halloween T-shirt and shorts and I was OK. DS wore a pirate costume and I think he would have been happier in regular clothes. He had a T-shirt and shorts underneath but he REFUSED to take off the costume. He was ready to leave by 10 PM, and I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that the costume was hot and making him grouchy. I would have been more than happy to have him take it off and be comfortable so he could enjoy the party, but that's not the way it went!

When I want in October, I remember being cool. I think you are right about it being hit or miss.

The last year we went, the night of the party was warm and cooled off so much that we had to buy a long sleeve shirt he was freezing! Two nights later we are at the park and it is so hot the sweat is dripping off us...It seems to vary alot!

My dh was Jack Sparrow last year, on October 20th. Yes, he melted! When he got on the bus, he said "next year I'm going as Tarzan!". My dd and I wore poodle skirts, and I tell ya, my legs were sweating in places, I didn't know could sweat.

EWWWW! LOL!

Ok that is it! I'm not subjecting my family to halloween costumes. I'm assuming half or more dont wear them anyway right?

Don't get me wrong, we melted, but we are dressing up again this year. I have no idea as what, but we will be wearing something!!! I think it was having 8 of us in costume that helped get us chosen to be grand marshalls in the parade.

We live in Wisconsin and CAN'T WAIT for MNSSHP on Sept. 29th because of the warm weather! Every year I make my DD8 choose her costume based on outdoor Trick-or-Treating weather so she's always had "warm" costumes. This year she is thrilled to be able to wear something without long pants/leggings, turtlenecks and gloves! :cheer2:

My DD wore shorts under her costume several years ago and she did take her costume off. She was much happier and still had a great time.
This year she says she wants to get one of those cute 2 piece costumes, like a teen witch or something. As long as its appropriate I'm all for it!

We were so HOT!!! Your 100% right. It's hot to wear a costume. We went as Miss Piggy, the Swedish Chef and our DD was Princess Jasmine.

Those costumes were stuck to us. It was disgusting. Know what though? I'd do it again!!! It was so fun to dress up!!! I have to admit though, we changed around 10 or so.

DH was Jack Sparrow and Jack Skellington and yes he was hot, but no way was he taking it off! Riding POTC all alone in a boat to himself....was well worth it to him......

Last time I went I wore shorts and a tshirt with my piglet ears :rotfl: oh and my blinking piglet necklace :Pinkbounc

I've been in 90 degree plus humidity in June marching in the Star Wars Weekends parade in my stormtrooper armor (which has an all black undersuit) before and we were in armor a lot longer than the parade actually was...so a lightweight costume during a September evening/night can't be nearly as bad for me. :)

We have done the party three times. All three times no one in my family dressed up. And it was hot all three times. (Not to be a ba humbug.) There were lots of people who did not dress up. Some just did shirts, hats, or little things. But, thanks to all those who do dress up because I have enjoyed lots of the ideas!

I went as Robinhood, puffy shirt, tights and a cape. I did have to ditch the cape becuase it was hot.

We are going to dress up but not as anything extravagent. My daughter says she would like to be the same as last year, a basketball player. Since we live in MA I figure I will do the same as I did up here, if it is warm she is all set, if it is chilly I will bring a long sleeved shirt to go underneath. Last year I put leggings on under her shorts so I will probably bring those also. I am doing my best to be prepared but we are not going to any extremes with the costumes. While I know it would be fun I just can't wrap my mind around the logistics of wearing them for hours, going on rides, sitting on the buses etc etc.

We all went as Chef Mickey one year. We wore shorts, t-shirts, chef aprons and chef hats. It was perfect for the weather. We did have to remove the hats on the rides.

Last October the adults ordered costumes in like April. It didn't occur to me until the week before we were leaving, when I saw the forecast, that it would still be hot(I'm from NJ and October & hot just don't associate with each other in my world). We ended up not even taking them and we just wore regular clothes(I keep meaning to put them on ebay since we never even wore them, but I'm thinking I might want them for some reason eventually). This year I'm making t-shirts and the girls will be in costume again.
