Hello Everyone! I am hoping that someone may be able to help me out with a couple of things..

First off, when should we go to MNSSHP? Tues Oct 6 or Thurs Oct 8? I have been speaking to several CMs and they keep going back and forth on what date. I am actually leaning towards Tuesday, but would like some opinions..I am hoping that a Tues would be less crowded than a Thurs!

Going to the party will be myself 29, DH 29, DD 4 and DS 2 1/2. We would like to dress up becasue I think it would be a blast! We have been talking about maybe doing an Alice in Wonderland theme.

Myself dressing up as the Queen of Hearts
DD as Alice
DS as the King of Hearts
and lastly DH as the Mad Hatter..

Now, I am not creative in any way shape or form, but I have seen some super cute costumes for all characters except the King of Hearts..

Anyone have any ideas?!?

TIA i Can't wait!!

I think that's a great idea for a theme. We went last year on a Sunday and it was wonderfully empty. Lots of people dressed up. My DH and I didn't (we wore Halloween t-shirts), but our DDS10&5 did and they had a ball. I would think Tuesday would be better than Thursday (as it's closer to the weekend). I'm jealous -- I want to go back again, but we're going in August this year instead.

We'll be there the same week and have been trying to decide on Tuesday or Thursday. I believe Tuesday will be better as far as crowds (at least I hope so).

You're costumes sound like fun. Enjoy!

We are going on Tuesday, the 6th, as I thought it would be less crowded than Thursday, going into the Columbus day weekend. I hope it works out to be true.

Good point about Columbus Day weekend starting...I didn't think about that...

What are all of you guys dressing up as? Or are you dressing up?

I don't know what we are going to dress up as. We are a grand gathering (3 men, 3 women, and 3 little boys). I know our guys won't dress up, but I want something cute and comfy for the kids and us ladies. I was thinking mouseketeers for us but don't have any ideas for the boys yet, aside from the typical boy costumes (pirate, etc.).

If nobody else will dress up, I was thinking of being Tinkerbell and dressing my 2 boys up as lost boys. I am not good with decisions, thank goodness I have time to decide!

Tink and the lost boys would be super cute!

I have had to beg and plead with my husband...Then he said "if these pics make it on the internet..can you blur out my face..." :rotfl:

For the King of Hearts, you could probably find just a king costume, or a prince costume and add more of a kingly crown and then add a couple of iron on heart patches. I think you can get just large swatches of iron on fabric in different colors at fabric stores and cut heart shapes out of them. Use heart shaped cookie cutters as a stencil. Or make a sash out of hearts using similar concept and add it to a regular "king" costume. It will get the idea across, especially if the who family is Alice characters as well.

Great idea..thank you...I've been looking at king costumes but i never thought about adding to it...;)

You've got our idea! :-)

DH Mad Hatter
DD Alice
DD White Rabbit
myself queen of hearts

Oh yea! Glad to see other families are theming up :) Last year for Halloween I was Peter Pan, DS was Hook, and XDH (haha, I know that sounds weird.. but we have a good relationship!) was Smee! We are going to MNSSHP Sept 4th, and I am thinking I will be CInderella and DS will be Prince charming <3

If you have the choice of 2 dates, always pick the earlier date. If the event would get rained out due to a hurricane or storm, you would still have the opportunity to go 2 days later. We are picking the 6th for that reason, but it's too early for costumes around here.

I've been debating between those two dates as well. I had pretty much settled on Tuesday the 6th until the tickets went on sale last Friday and the 6th is an AP holder discount date. I'm leaning toward the 8th now.

I think that sounds like fun!

We are going October 23rd and I think I have talked my husband into dressing up. It will be my 11 year old DD, my DH and myself and I think we will go as the Flintstones. I know it is not Disney, but my DH is a big guy and he refused to go as Shrek and DD did not want to be Donkey:rotfl: DH will be Fred, I will be Wilma and DD will be Pebbles.

Hope you have a blast!
