MNSSHP Costume Help Needed Please!

Hi!

We are going to our first ever MNSSHP this year, and are really about it. We are looking for costumes for the 3 of us, and DS (12) has seen a ghostbuster costume he absolutely would love to wear. Problem is, I'm not too sure about the inflatable gun which comes with the costume, there is also an inflatable backpack, so I'm hoping it would be OK, I know that Disney don't like you to take anything in which could be mistaken for a real weapon, so I thought I'd post and ask all your opinions on whether this costume would be OK.

Can you please give your opinion on whether the gun would be allowed in the park? Maybe you or a member of your party have worn this same costume to MNSSHP in the past?

I'm really hoping he will be able to wear it, as he is so excited but if they took his gun off him he would not be a happy bunny!

I don't think they will allow the gun/backpack. We have only been to one MNSSHP but I can't remember anything like that on anyone.

My brother (28) wore that exact costume to MNSSHP on Halloween night last year. There wasn't a single issue, other than him being serenaded all night by random Ghostbuster fans.

Mazzy, I think thats a great costume for your son, but I just wanted to let you know that it can get really hot in October at Disney. My dd and I went this past October to MNSSHP and it felt like it was in the high 80s low 90's up until midnight. It was very humid the night we went on October 7th. We were sweating! Maybe just bring something light for him to change into after you take pics in the park. Have fun!

Quiteblonde - thanks so much for your reply, I've just told DS and he is really pleased to hear that your brother had no problems, you have made his day!

SamRoc - thanks for the tip, will make sure to do that for him. We are planning on going Oct 31st though, so hopefully it will be a bit cooler and he will be OK.

Anyone else seen the Ghostbuster outfit at the MNSSHP? Just looking for a few more opinions before we take the plunge and buy it.
