MNSSHP and a first time visitor

I'm taking my bf 22 who is not a huge Disney fan for his first trip this upcoming Sept. MNSSHP will be available one night on our trip. Should I take him or tour the resorts and other parks a little more?

If you can swing the tickets, certainly do MNSSHP. It's one of those things that Disney does VERY right. The atmosphere, the music, the lighting and effects, the parade, and the fireworks are all amazing. It really makes the MK a whole different place.

Now, having written that, I suppose part of it does depend on why is he not a big Disney fan. If he'd rather kick back and relax, then touring resorts may be worthwhile. If he just hasn't experienced the magic, then the party is a good start to show him .

Ahh, so he's just inexperienced then! Excellent! MNSSHP will be a great thing to show him the magic!

Make sure to bring him to a normal MK day before the party as well, so he can see for himself how it transforms (even the day of before the party will work). Don't want him thinking that's how the MK is ALL the time and then being disappointed at normal MK!

That's kinda how my boyfriend is...
He's never been to Disney and thinks he'd be paying like $60 extra just for candy
Maybe I'll get to go to MNSSHP another time!

I went with an ex and he wasn't keen on Disney, but he still had a good time (I think). I say you should go if you have the chance but as one of the PP's said, definitely go beforehand during the day so you can see how really cool it is when it's done. I love the party, personally. I think it's amazing. I'm planning on taking my (hopefully soon) DH, when we go for his first trip in October. I can't wait!
