We went to the party last night and it was a lot of fun! There were lines to get in at 7pm. The CM's were directing day guests out with ghosts on a stick. They kept saying "let me see your wristbands" for the first 1/2 hour or so. Did not notice anyone without wristbands later on. The walkways were crowded coming in but the pary itself was not bad at all. It was sold out too. No lines for candy except the Alice in Wonderland walkway from Toontown to Tommorwland. The candy was Spree, mini Snickers, rasins, M&M's, Sunkist fruit gems, Hot Dog minis, Raisinets, Twix minis, Nerds, 100 Grand, Starburst, Tootsie Roll, Reeses peanut butter cups, Hershey Kisses, Dum Dums, Tootsie Flavor Rolls, Hershey's bars, Bit o Honey, 3 Musketeers, etc.. Much better than past years.

The Headless Horseman ran before both parades. The parades were great The Captain Jack float is awesome. He is very good. The fireworks were about 10 minutes late going off but they were great-just like last year.

The Adventureland Veranda wa open for candy and character pictures. Tarzan and Turk were in there. The Walrus from Alice in Wonderland was out too. Those were 2 of the rare ones we saw.

The party was great and we will be back to the one on 10.31:)

I am glad that you had a good time! We went to the party last night also.
Our report:
We arrived at 4:00 after eating a late lunch at Kona Cafe. At MK, we entered and were given wristbands and a candy bag apiece. The parks were not crowded at all. In Main Street, CMs had a big "See Ya Real Soon" sign, the friendly way of saying "Get Out if you don't have a ticket!" They did a fantastic job of getting rid of unticketed guests. We decided to go to the second parade, which was less crowded than the first. We got "This is too good to be true" parade spots, and enjoyed the show. Happy Hallowishes was just okay. It was ten minutes late, and the choreography could have been better. The music didn't mesh with the fireworks like it does in Illuminations or regular Wishes. It was very cool that the fireworks surrounded you at the end. A very knowledgeable and informative CM, Rachel, gave us the inside scoop at about five. The Alice and Wonderland Trail was the only way to get candy! We did notice that some CMs were a little more generous than others, but we had a great time. In some instances, one CM at the barrel gave candy, and then the CM next to the first gave out a handful because they didn't see you before. There was one odd CM yelling "Merry Christmas" which wasn't very funny, but she thought so. We were able to hit every ride that we wanted to, and still had time for all the party festivities. We steered clear of the Dance Parties due to lack of interest. We ate at Pecos Bills because our favorite CS, CHH, had a Media Reception. One change that I would make is to light the park better. Especially after Happy Hallowishes, there was major disorder. It would have made sense to do music aftter Hallowishes to speed people up. Main Street was fantastic also. I would definintely make more 50% off photo locations besides the existing ones, as the lines were out the door. We got our Grumpy pin, lamented that our annual passes just expired, preventing the purchase of the AP pin, and finished the night with the Haunted Mansion. We had a wonderful time overall.

The crane is behind the castle still, and you can tell that it needs major painting. From the sides, you can see sorry looking shingles, and from Splash Mountain, you can see that the top has lots of white spots. (especially on the blue) Paining is very necessary! My suspicions were confirmed-I found the castle a little bland. It looks smaller with out the gold and characters. I liked it decorated.

BTW, Buzz kept breaking down last night, and the lines were out the door. We also got stuck on Winnie the Pooh in the Heffalump (sp?) room for a few minutes. That room is a lot less magical with lights on. It could also do with a serious scrubbing! Every surface was covered in grime!!!

I hope everyone going to the party enjoys it. BTW, the "Top it off at the Snickers trough" is a lie. One handful does not constitute topping off the bag! ;) We had a great time, and would love to do it again.

For anyone who used the photopass during the 9/29 party did your pictures show up out there? We just got home and pulled them up on the internet and none of the ones from the party are out there.

We will be at the party next Friday night :cool1: Just a couple questions- what are the temps at night like? Our costumes are sleeveless, and I'm wondering if we'll be cold. Speaking of costumes.... were there a lot of adults dressed up? I'm going with my DD14, and have convinced her to dress up with me :), but I know I'll never hear the end of it if we are in the minority of "big kids " dressed in costumes !

It was hot last night. The weather said it was supposed to go down to 67 so I brought a sweatshirt and it was warm the whole night. Lots of adults were dressed up. There were TONS of Tinks (mostly adults) more than princesses and pirates/Captain Jacks!

you can call photopass and they can help you locate your pics.. don't give up.. they have helped us before.. just try to remember where you had pics taken if you can.. it helps also to know the approx time.

We were there, too! I agree it didn't seem that busy. We arrived at around 3pm and had dinner at Crystal Palace at 3:50. Came out and went to Space Mountain - which shut down right before we got on. We also had problems 2X this past week on Buzz and also on Splash last night during the party. What's up with that?

I though the parade was great and I loved Hallowishes! My daughter slept through the entire parade (right on the sidewalk in front of the castle). I was annoyed that the fireworks were late, though. I think it was at least 15 min. late.

Also, the Villan Mix and Mingle was okay at best. I didn't care for it.

We didn't get our bags filled with candy and they weren't "topping" them off on the way out, either. Also, never saw a spot for pictures until we were on the way out (big ghosts). The line was HUGE so we didn't wait.

What in the heck was up with Splash Mountain? We got stuck on it early Friday morning and actually had to be 'evacuated'. It never was the same after that. The ride was *really* bumpy and it was like you could feel the bottom of the boats grinding on the ground. We ended up only riding a few times during the party. It was just too bumpy. :guilty:
As far as the weather, it was quite warm. I am normally cold everywhere I go and was concerned I would need at least a sweatshirt. I don't know what the temp. was exactly but even at midnight I was perfectly fine, if not a little warm, in my sleeveless dress (yes, I dressed up!)

the parade actually wasn't late- it just depends on where you sit to watch it- it starts right next to splash mountain at the exact time that it's advertised (unless it's raining cause then it takes a few extra minutes to get the floats in place) but the parade hits liberity square about 5 minutes later (depending on the speed the floats are going that night) but it doesn't hit mainstreet till atleast 15-20 minutes later (some times about half hour later)

I guess we weren't at the same MNSSHP. We were also there on 9/29 and I thought it was crowded.

We were there last year and 2 years ago, twice and this by far was the most crowded party we have ever been to.

We didn't see anyone without wristbands after 7pm , though. Initially the park didn't seem crowded but after it got dark, it seemed people appeared from nowhere. The lines for the rides weren't long. But if you wanted pictures with the characters, forget it. LONG!!!! Did get one of the kids in front of Cinderellas coach though. :teeth: The lines for the candy were long too.

Also did get a good spot for the 2nd parade on main Street. After I got DH and the kids situated, I went to get popcorn and drinks at the popcorn stand at the end of Main Street. The line was forever and took almost 30 minutes to get there. I get to be the next person and the CM tells the lady in front of me, Oh its cash only now, we can't take your dining cards anymore. Well after standing for almost 30 minutes and PAYING for the dining plan since we rented DVC, I was irrate. We did get our drinks and popcorn. But thats ridiculous. If you are going to have this plan, you can't tell people you can't use it.

All in all the party was fun. Kids had a great time. But if we go next year, I will definetly plan the party for a non weekend night.

BTW, DH and DS got stuck on Splash Mountain also. And was the 9/29 MNSSHP really sold out? We just bought our tickets on the 27th.

Thanks for the reports! We leave on 10/31 and will go to the party that night. We did our first MNSSHP in 2004 but we're excited to go on halloween night!

If anyone was into pins...How were the lines for the special release pins? Anyone know if those sold out? DD is a collector--mainly chip and dale---and we're excited that one of that nights pins is chip and dale. Were there any pins left over from prior nights?

Thanks!
Sharon

I agree that it did get somewhat crowded around 7-8p.m. Toontown was really difficult to navigate towards the candy trail. But, once we got there we were able to go straight through with little waiting time. It seemed that the lines for the characters along the trail were comingling with the line for the candy and the CM's had to seperate us from time to time. I thought Hallowishes was great. But, I have never seen them before so not sure what they were like in the past.

The kids enjoyed the free face painting and the villians show at the castle as well as the headless horseman. We ended up leaving a little bit before the second parade to try and avoid the lenghty crowds on the bus.

Definitely would do again!

We were at the 9/29 MNSSHP also and though it was our first we thought it seemed crowded compared to how slow it had seemed during the day at the Magic Kingdom. The lines for candy were crazy long and it just seemed busy. The party was sold out as mentioned and we got a picture of the sold out sign outside guest relations. We had a good time and enjoyed Boo to you. If we get to go to Disney again in Sept/Oct we plan to go to MNSSHP again.

Sorry. I meant the fireworks!

I was there too and before the first parade it didn't seem crowded at all. After the 8:15 parade I found it very difficult to move around the park and lines were long for everything.

The parade and the fireworks were wonderful. I did see one family with young kids who did not have wristbands who were told to leave whentrying to enter Casey's to get something to eat. They moved down Main street and watched the parade. Saw them after the parade too. All I can say is what a nice example for your kids!

the party was sold out by friday morning cause there were a lot of people wishing to buy tickets during the day and were turned away.

We were there on 9/29 and asked the photopass guy about the party being sold out and approx. how many......he said 30K! Couldn't move there were so many people. We won't pay the $$$ to do MNSSHP again.

We were also there 9/29. First time at MNSSHP. I was so looking forward to it and could hardly wait. I was very disappointed in the whole thing. I felt that it was not worth the money. I am in agreement with you I won't pay to go to it again! It was a waste of money and time!

We (Me, DW, twin DD4) were there too!

Here is my take from another post:

We went on 9/29 and were told to that we could enter beginning at 4pm. We actually entered at 4:30pm due to a bus SNAFU (45 min wait at POR East Depot, only issue all week, apparently the bus filled up at the South depot and did not call it in to send an additional bus to the other depots). We were able to make our ADR at Crystal Palace about 5:05pm as we checked in at 4:55pm. Awesome meal, awsome party. The Villain mix and mingle is a show put on by the villians in front of the castle after which they come down for autographs and pictures (it is a good 15 min show and quite enjoyable => not scary). Also I should point out that the Adventureland treat trail is air conditioned and at least 3 areas are set up for character encounters, much nicer than the Alice treat trail (we did this after fireworks) IMO which went on the outside of the indy speedway (Alice, Mad hatter, Tweedle dee and Tweedle dum , Queen of hearts left for Villians show just before we got there). At Adventureland on the treat line we got pictures with Timon, Orangatang from Jungle Book, Rafiki, Jane and Tarzan (there was an option to bypass the characters and go candy only). Also we did this line during the second parade so no waiting, in fact to get Timon we did the line twice and just walked through the whole thing again) We had a blast did all the above, plus free face painting for my wife and daughter, saw the first parade from the top of the circle on Main Street square, and the fire works by Dumbo, and were there from 4:30 to 11 and I was told that it was sold out at 20,000 people. Fun, Fun Fun, more fun than I thought we would have and we did absolutely no rides.

Oh, and we also did Stitch's dance party.
