EasyWDW has the dates starting on the first on the preliminary September calender as well.

That's because Josh uses the travel agents' calendar I linked in post #24.

Disneyworld.com shows that MK closes at 7pm on Sept 1st. Why else would they close at 7?

I was excited to see Oct 6th as well. Crossing my mouse ears that this date holds true because it would work perfect for our touring plan.

I'm going to remain skeptical about no early September dates. I'm really hoping it isn't true because DH and I are going to be there from the 3rd to the 8th and the 4th and 7th are our only options. I will be extremely disappointed if those aren't party dates.

I agree, the past 3 years the party has started no later than the second full week of September, I would be surprised if they didn't at least do a party on the 7th...

I'll take a party on the 7th over no party at all! If we have to change our plans to work around that, so be it. We had so much fun! I think Disney would want to take advantage of the holiday weekend and grab those who aren't in school yet and the locals who are off for the holiday.

Tell me about it! The whole reason we are going in September is because of the Halloween party! We can't go in October, so we have to wait out this torture until we know for sure. If the party isn't until the following week...we will be pushing our trip back a week. I hope we don't have to do that!

The main reason we're going in September is to take advantage of taking off one less work day because of Labor Day plus the party since it was so early last year. We also booked a good deal at WL, which wouldn't be as affordable without the deal, so this is like a dream trip for us. We will have to discuss our priorities and see what is most important to us come May if it's true there are no dates before Labor Day. We're not going to make an brash decisions now, but it's going to drive me crazy for the next few months. I have my fingers and toes crossed that we'll both get what we want!

Disney wouldn't let half of September go by without making the usual income. That's how I knew WDWMagic was wrong. Lol

Yep, we booked the "magical" deal for the poly, so it is our dream trip as well! But we have two little girls who would be crushed if they didn't get to meet Jack and Sally, so we would have to adjust our plans. It would kill me though!

The early September parties were not usually crowded. By shifting more parties to October, Disney can sell more tickets.

I can understand not having the parties until the 2nd half of September, but what I don't understand is closing MK early on what would have been perfect party days (in line with past years party schedule). Maybe they did put out the hours before they determined for sure when they wanted the party, but what I'm hoping is that for some reason they just don't want to promote the earlier party dates yet, but will announce or release them later. My fingers are certainly crossed, considering we'll be there Sept 6-13 and that we were very much hopping to attend our first party ever.

If not, I at least hope they update the park hours and don't close MK at 7pm on a holiday! That just seems weird.

Oh I really hope wdwprep is right with her dates! We are tied to school holidays with my nephew coming along so we'll be offsite from Aug 23rd to Sept 4th and then check into the Poly. We leave on the 7th and while I was fine with this and reckoned the parties would only start around the 7th and was fine to miss them this year I got so excited to see several websites, not only wdwprep but easywdw, Kenny the pirate, Undercover Tourist and Touring Plans all speculate the parties would in fact start on the 1st based on the hours released! It really got my hopes up!! I start to make my ADRs today and attending the party on the 4th was a big part of my touring plan, I don't know whether to change it now or what to do!!

Well that was my thinking originally, only these other sites released hours that are probably incorrect. Oh well, guess that just means I need to build a bridge and get over it - and persuade DH we just have to go back sooner

But Labor Day 2013 was September 2nd, yet MNSSHP started September 10th...

Oh, confusion reigns. I really hope that they do run parties from the 1st this year, as we really wanted to go!
