MNSSHP 2014: What's YOUR Costume?

It's a little early to plan, but who ever said it was too early to start planning for anything Disney?!

The start of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, or MNSSHP, will be here before we know it! Which means to those of us attending the parties, costume planning.

I saw so many costumes last year, and it totally bummed me out that I didn't get my own costume together the way I had wanted it to be. This year, I refuse to let that happen. So I've started the infamous hunt for what to consider for costumes this year, and so far, I'm coming up with some awesome idea of a female Hades. But only because I really don't think I want to dress as Ariel in her pink dress all night long.

Who else is with me! Partygoers, have a costume in mind?

I will be mother gothel, dd will be Rapunzel and ds will be Flynn Rider. so excited i have mine done but i might sweat to death in sept, making dds and putting sons together!

We're going to be Tron-inspired. Not quite sure how we're going to do it yet but that's the only thing that my DH and our friends could agree upon!

Went to 1st MNSSHP last year. it was HOT (and I'm from FL). I was Vanellope, DH was Fix-it Felix and 2 year old was Wreck-it Ralph. The long sleeve hoodie was too much for me. This year DDs will be Anna&Elsa (thanks to a friend who works at DL for getting these hard-to-find costumes). Think DS3 will be Olaf. DH, DS8 and I are considering UP! Characters.

We are going! And I am planning! It's our first time for Halloween and I'm excited!!!

And I have no clue what are costumes are going to be. That's the hard part. Trying to think up my idea!! It's me (F36) my 2 little guys (6 and 8) and my mom (grandma 59). Totally open to ideas if anyone has any!!!

You could probably sew some LED lights into fabric to go for it- gah, there was this one cosplay show on Sy-Fy that showed it.

Tell me about it. It's normally so hard to figure out a costume! Even if you figure it out, you might change your mind a few weeks later.

It's our first party this year. I'm stoked!!!
DS3 wants to be the Duke of Weselton.
I love it!!! I may coordinate with him but I'm pretty sure there will be 3336627 other Annas and Elsas running around.

If things work out finance-wise and we're able to get tickets, I think DBF and I would like to do some version of Carl and Ellie from UP...we're thinking either the yellow gingham dress or their work clothes.

I would think 50% of all costumes this year will be frozen themed

This will be our first party. Dd 8 wants to go as Merida. Dd 5 wants to go as Elsa. I will be making their costumes. Dh and I are planning on modifying regular outfits a little to coordinate with the girls. Dh is going to wear green shirt khaki shorts and a plaid sash like thing to be Fergus. I'm going to add black felt circles to a white shirt and pair that with my white maxi to be Olaf. Going all out for the girls and subtle for the grown ups.

Also, are all costumes usually disney themed? Or can he wear his Halloween costume?

I'm making costumes for myself and db. We're going as Belle and her prince. However his will be shorts not full length trousers and the shirt and jacket will be made of lightweight material; and my dress will be knee length instead of full length

Not everyone does but a lot of people do. When we went previously I wore Tiigger ears but DH did not dress up. He still had fun and even Trick or Treated!

Any costume is fine...of course a lot are Disney themed.

As for me, I am thinking of going as a Minion. Now I've never stepped foot on Universal property and really have no interest but I love Despicable Me & think it would be easy to put something together. I figure since they show Despicable Me on the Disney Channel I can dress like a minion without guilt....

It's our first party, and first time doing anything Halloween related. Mom is not so keen on dressing up, I'll disneybound as Minnie for the party. Red dress with white dots, black leggings yellow shoes, white gloves and Minnie years.

We will be 4 adults at the party this year and will be dressed each in a different decade. One of us is the 50's (in a poodle skirt), one as the 60's (hippy), one as the 70's (disco) and I'm the 80's (lace fingerless gloves, neon, etc).

I'm going as Minnie Mouse. I have the dress and the Minnie ears. I just need to find yellow shoes!

DS doesn't know what he wants to be yet.

WOW! Everyone's costumes seem great! DH and I are planning 2 Halloween Parties one as pirates the other dressed very gothic. Should be fun!!!
