MNSSHP 2006, Ready to start planning!

I just hit my 180 day window so I called to make my ADRs.

The first day of MNSSHP is 9/29.

I made my ADR for LTT that night.

Tickets are no on sale yet though.

But Woo Hoo! I can't wait. This will be our first MNSSHP! :thumbsup2

This will be our first MNSSHP and we're SO excited!! My son who will be 7 by then will be a pirate and my daughter who will be 3 wants to be Tink. I have NO idea what my hubby and I should be! We could stick to the whole Peter Pan theme. Decisions, decisions....

I'm anxiously awaiting the dates for the beginning of Oct since we will arrive on 9/29 and leave on 10/7. We are so excited to be able to be a part of this as we have never been to WDW for anything special like this. Any tips???

Shelby

My dh would not dress up the first year either, I got him to wear a t-shirt that says this is my costume. Then he saw everyone else wearing costumes. Last year he said, if I'm dressing up I'm going all out. So, he wore the complete Jack Sparrow costume from the Disney store, real hoop earring, tons of eyeliner and all! He looked awesome! However he was soooooooooooooo hot. He got on the bus and said "next year I'm dressing as Tarzan!"

My charming was Jack Sparrow last year too and Jack Skellington the year before - both costumes were HOT!

About how much do the tickets for MNSSHP cost? We're debating on maybe going to two nights!

At one time does the park close for people without tickets?

If someone in your family doesn't like to dress up how about a T-shirt? Pop on over to the Creative Design Board here at the DIS.There are lots of talented people over there that can help you create your own special Halloween shirt. The *~*~*The DIS Design Gallery* ~*~* is a good place to start looking. http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=105 pixiedust:

Hi! Just wanted to say that the Alice costume is the cutest! Did you make that? I'm still trying to figure out what to wear. I did see some cute Mickey Mouse Club tees at Walmart. I thought my Mom, sister and I could wear them with some ears, shorts and we'll be good to go! Very easy and comfortable for the first week of October. I heard it was very hot and humid last year. My ds11 is not sure yet, but my dd7 wants to be Tink or Cindy or Mulan or Violet...

Oh lord no I didn't make it, I couldn't mend a hole in a sock honestly! I bought it in a sale last month for 11 euro or so  !! So I couldn't resist. The tee-shirt idea is good - DH and I might do that too - oh I might surprise DH with a tee-shirt on the day..... hmmmmm, time to get devious! :teeth:

When your DS11 decides, let me know as I have no idea what my boys who are 11 (going on 12) and 9, would go as, especially the 11 year old as he's at *that* age between child and teen, so we're lucky he's even talking to us. :lmao: There's a good costume site here - some of the stuff is really expensive but it's good for ideas. Good luck! :)

Hi! Thanks for the website. They have some great costumes! In 2004 when we went, my whole family dressed up with full costumes. The photo looked great but we weren't very comfortable! So, this year I think t-shirts are the way to go. I just talked to my son last night and came up with an idea. You could buy an Incredibles t-shirt at the Disney Store. It's red with the Incredibles logo, wear black shorts and a mask. We also talked about buying a Pirates of the Caribbean t-shirt, put on an eyepatch and a pirate hat. He seems to like both ideas, which is half the battle with a pre-teen. Now hopefully he'll wear it! pirate: Good luck to you!

My oldest son wants to be Anakin from Star Wars.My DS who will be nine saw a tshirt with Goofy dressed as a pirate that he wants. He hates to be uncomfortable so I think that is good for him.DD7 wants to be Tinkerbelle. My two year old HATES costumes so she won't be dressing up which really upsets me because I bought two Princess dresses and an Alice costume for our last trip.

Help!!! :wave2: I have a question that I need some advice on. We are supposed to be going 9/24 to 9/29 and like many who have posted before, hope to attend the MNSSHP on the 29th. :thumbsup2 According to the unofficial guide, :rolleyes1 that last week in Sept. is pretty packed while in Oct. the crowds seem light.....although we were there last Oct. and they weren't that light. :confused3 My question is: does anyone know first hand what the crowds generally are the last of September? Is this a good time to go or would switching to Oct. be a better choice? Any advice would be appreciated. :thumbsup2 And thanks for all the great info everyone gives and posts...it really is a helpful :cheer2: !

We usually go in Sept. and we were there the last week of Sept. last year and I guess it may have been a tad busier with the free dining going on but not much. When we were leaving on Oct. 1st to me it seemed like the resort was really getting crowded. Food and wine festival and the Halloween party were both going on. I would think Oct. to have heavier crowds. Plus value season ends Oct. 4 I believe so you'd save money going in Sept. In my opinion, I would not put enough stock in the numbers from UG to change my trip date from Sept. to Oct.

No they are not officially (or otherwise) out yet but the hours are out for September and that Friday, September 29, MK closes at 6:00p so everyone is assuming there is a party that night.

:yay: Someone who knows or might know the 2006 MNSSHP dates....maybe, hopefully??? Officially??? I have been trying to find these for what seems like forever and have been having no luck. Other replys on this board to my previous posts gave me ideas from last year or sites to check but so far no dice. Let me in on the secret..................please!!!! We have our hotel booked and vacation time already reserved. We would like to make adr's but dont want to interfear with the mnsshp date. Help!!!!!!!! :guilty:

Two conflicting reports, from cast members at cr mind you........1. tickets and dates should be out by mid April no later than the end and 2. tickets and dates would not be out in August!!!!!! This will not work for me!!!!! :furious:
We have been talking about going in October and my kids got wind of it, ages 6 and 4 and they have been talking about it and asking questions and we are getting them pumped up for it. Do you know how much of a heel I will be if we dont get to go ??!!!!! This is our first time going with the kids where they will really enjoy it and the first time for all of us for the MNSSHP. Ok, I think I am done panicking for a while. I am going to go and breathe into my paper bag for a while. LOL

I think, when the October hours are released, it will apparent which nights are designated for MNSSHP. We've already seen that with September-- if the MK is set to close at 6:00, it's safe to say it's a party night :)
