MNSSHP 2006, Ready to start planning!

Was hoping for Sun. 10/1.

Planned to fly home 10/2.

How busy is the first party usually? Figured more locals might attend a Fri.

Off to check flights to see if 10/2 is feasible....
We attended the first party last year and had a great time. It felt a little crowded in the walkway areas and at parade time, but there were no lines for the attractions. The longest we waited for anything was 10 minutes and that was only once or twice. We rode the mountains numerous times. It was great!

They should be coming out with a list soon from what castmembers have told me. I know this is a silly question but does anyone have any ideas on how to get a Pooh sized costume? or any ideas on how to get one made? I'm hopeless but I want to dress up with my kids without embarassing them. :confused3

Thanks jcemom. :)

We attended the second party last year - our first MNSSHP.

ETA: Just read your report on last year's MNSSHP thread that you attended both, and thought Fri. was less crowded.

Right now the flights are the same if we go 9/27-10/2 or 9/28-10/3.

Just have to decide between Fri. or Mon. party.

Guess I'll wait to see what the other park hours are.

Thank you for the 2006 dates. You really helped me out with my planning. I was guessing the party would be on 10/1 but now I'll have to rearrange my schedule for 10/2. I'll be calling Monday to make adrs. I can't wait for those Oct. hours! :woohoo:

Just a note about costumes, we were amazed at how warm it was in the evenings when we went in October. My DS overheated a bit in his Buzz costume, so either make sure the costume is nice cool material, or carry around a t-shirt and shorts to slip into if the little ones decide it's too hot. Luckily we had a change of clothes for him, not for us though, and boy was Mommy Jedi and Daddy Jack Skelington hot and sweaty by the end of the evening!! Having said that, it can get chilly too!!!

Sundays are MK's EMH evenings. ;)

There have always been MNSSHPs on Sundays. I'll believe that has changed when I see the dates from Disney. Thanks though.

You're welcome. (While there may have always been MNSSHP on Sundays, there haven't always been MK evening EMH on Sundays.)

As of right now, the Unofficial Guide website has MNSSHP listed for the following Sundays in 2006: Oct 1, Oct 15, Oct 22, and Oct 29.

Well, since the UG couldn't possibly be wrong, I'm sure all the info we have on TourGuide Mike pertaining to MK's October park hours and the MNSSHP dates must be incorrect. Sorry to inconvenience you by sharing erroneous information.

Sigh.

My point is simply that the official dates aren't out yet, so both TGM and the UG are guessing. One of them is wrong. Since I want to go on Sunday, October 29, I'm interested in the outcome.

Hiya! Those dates have been on the UG site for a few months now and, even though it's updated, it hasn't been done since March 9th - they are just guesses as you probably know but they're *old* guesses at that! The UG doesn't even have Sept 29th on their list.

TGM has the park hours though, so it's a much more educated guess that the one the UG made months ago. When park hours show Spectro and Wishes every Sunday night throughout October, and a 6:00 closing every Monday night throughout October...well, looks like MNSSHP is on Monday this year.

Just FYI, I also received an email from my Dreams Unlimited travel agent showing the MNSSHP on Mondays, so TGM isn't the only source of my information.

but not on Columbus Day (October 9), correct?

Just to add in here, when we phoned to make an adr, we were told by a CM NOT to count on MNSSHP taking place at weekends. As these days were already incredibly busy. We were asking about a Sunday date. He said wait till the dates are confirmed, but he would plan another week day too.

Correct. :thumbsup2

Just FYI, the list of MNSSHP dates also did not include the 12th, 19th, or 20th. However, WDW is showing the same 6:00 MK closing on those nights as on the other party nights. They also fit the 'pattern' of party nights this year. So, making another educated guess, there should be MNSSHP on those nights as well. (I did include them in my orginal posted dates without an explanation, so I thought I should offer one now, just in case anyone else gets the list from DU.)

thanks!!! I think I'm going to shoot for 10/10. maybe I'll miss some of the crowds over the long Columbus Day weekend.

Are the EMH parks consistent with the rest of the year's schedule? I know the hours will be out tomorrow.... but it's a gloomy Friday night, and doing a little planning will be fun! :cool1:
