MN DIS Meet @ State Fair, Sunday, Sept. 1

It's about that time of year again - time for the great Minnesota get together and the perfect place to have a DIS meet!


We could do it the first weekend of the fair - maybe Saturday, August 24 or Sunday August 25? We could also do it the following weekend but I'm afraid we might have a lower turnout with Labor Day - maybe I'm wrong though.


So who's in?

Even though my family is "doing" the fair on Friday, the 23rd, I will be MORE THAN HAPPY to come back on the 24th or 25th for a meet! Actually, either weekend is fine with me...we don't have plans for anything.

*sigh* any weekend during the fair is bad for me. Looks like I am going to miss you all again I have a bridal shower, a bach party, a wedding, a birthday party, going to Kansas City over Labor Day sigh sigh sigh. Have a good time for me!

I am unable to make it the first weekend of the fair. Sat Eve, Sun, or Labor day would work, but I am in Canada through Friday late night.

Just reread this thread. So far noone has said that the first weekend would work but the second weekend would not! Should I get my hopes up???

And to clarify, Labor Day weekend, Sat late afternoon/evening, Sunday, or Monday would work for me . The first weekend will not.

You are right Ric - no one said that Labor Day weekend wouldn't work - just Minnesota, but neither one works with her busy schedule

I'm up for Labor Day weekend.

How about everyone else?

We are missing some other MN people here - Bucky, CarolMN, Diane, Rhonda, One_Cat, who else? We'll take Cheeseheads too!

I guess I am the first to say that Labor Day weekend will not work because we will be out of town.

I will be at the fair on Sunday morning August 25 and maybe early parts of the afternoon with extended family, so am unsure if I can hook up with anyone. Might not want to take me into account when choosing a date

Just found this!

The first weekend would be hard for us since I have dog shows both Saturday and Sunday, and Saturday is our 34 anniversary!! I also have to be at the Fair all day on the 22 to exhibit at the dog building and do demos. We could come any time on Labor Day weekend! Just let us know the time and place!

BTW, I thought we were going to convince DAN MURPHY to come to the Fair!!!

Hi everyone! I almost missed this post!

Labor Day would work great for me! DH and DS always go to the races in the afternoon, and I wander around by myself!

How about Monday (Labor Day) around 2:00pm? (Since nobody else has thrown out a time yet)

Hey Diane....where at the fair will you be showing your dogs? I mean, where is the dog building located?

I love the dog building! It's at the far end of machinery hill. Big gray building. Just follow one of the streets out past all the tractors and you can't miss it! LOL!

Rhonda is right. It is a big grey building with red trim at the far north end of the fairgrounds. If you go in the Larpentaur gate, you are right there. I guess they are not allowing much onsite parking this year because of security. I know we will have a BIG hassle trying to get in with all the dogs and equipment. I have t decorate my bench, so I plan to go the day before the fair starts to do that.

Labor day works fine for me unless I end up subing at the Longaberger booth that day. Someone asked me to already, but I hate to do the booth the last day!! it is always so dirty in there by then!
