MMRR, can you bypass preshow?

I wish they will get rid of preshows and not because of covid. Most of them are boring.

Standing in line is boring. At least a preshow is something to look at and serves a purpose as far as story telling (and is indoors)... or you could just stand in a hot pipe corral queue like Slinky Dog Dash while an hour of your life gets sucked away.

Preshow for MMRR and RnRC were running today. They were verbally encouraging everyone to fill available space on RnRC. It's very busy everywhere right now though so it didn't feel any different than the queues or stores.

We enjoy the pre-shows because they give us something to do while waiting. The ride wouldn’t load any faster without the pre-shows, we’d just be standing waiting so I’ll take the pre-show entertainment/education.

They also increases our excitement of knowing we’re getting closer!

Dont think I have ever stood in a line an hour line anywhere at Disney except to get on the bus to and from Animal Kingdom Resort.

I don't want to sound sarcastic, but seriously, no one likes lines, but sometimes pre-shows are an important part of the show. That is before everyone became Type A personalities and felt that their time was more important than the time of any other human life form with the advent of FP. There once were so many details in the queue lines that were, many times, as good as the show itself. Not everyone must rush through. I realize that this seemed to be a concern about Covid and that is where the serious question receives an eyeroll. If anyone is genuinely concerned about their health or the health of others they should not be out in public. That's were all those evil viruses come from. If seriously concerned the real place to be is not skipping pre-shows, but staying home completely away from accumulations of people.

In case someone isn’t aware of this, the filling in all available space isn’t just in preshows. They ask this in queues as well. There is no social distancing at Disney anymore. For shows, you sit right next to the next family. Single riders lines are open and those single riders are added in where seats are available.

Yeah, they ask, but I ignore it and leave 6 feet or so between my family and the people in front of us. Also, we’re basically only doing rides we can get a LL for so not spending a ton of time in the lines. We are not doing shows, and we are not eating indoors.

I hope they don't get rid of the pre-shows, as Cheapek realizes he can save more money there.
Disney turned a "ride" into an "attraction" by themeing it. They then "plused" it by adding entertainment while you wait for the attraction. No one was doing that. Together, the pre-show and themeing tell a story like only Disney can do. Package a few of these stories into a land and you have immersive experiences like Galaxy's Edge. Keep the pre-shows!!

So well said! If I want rides, Cedar Point or Carowinds fit the bill. I go every few years.

I go to Disney a lot more often than that, and even if I can tell you how many times the guy stammers in the FoP preshow, I still want it around.

To the OP’s question: I think it would be tough, logistically, to skip the MMRR show. As others have said, pretty easy to avoid that specific crowd by hanging back, but other spots in HS are far tighter.

Not sure how many people are in your party, but in addition to the pre-show, you could be seated right next to people not in your party. My DH and I were there in early December and as a couple, we were seated with another couple every time we went on. Same with Rise, SDD, etc. If you're not comfortable with the pre-show, you may not enjoy that either.

They won't. It's part of the loading process and, in some cases, acts as the safety tutorial (FoP, Dinosaur, etc.)
