Basically thinly sliced smoked salmon
Have never heard of a salt bagel, schmear or lox![]()
Growing up with a Jewish family in the Chicago suburbs, lox and bagels was a staple Sunday brunch at our house. My toppings were lox, cream cheese, red onion, tomato, and cucumber.
Sadly, I moved to Wisconsin and married into a Lutheran family. There's no such thing as a good bagel in northern WI. Whenever we go back to visit, bagels and Portillos are a must!!
I like cinnamon raisin bagels with butter or cream cheese. Once in awhile, I'll have it with DH's homemade veggie cream cheese.
Really? Where do you live? It is common language here.
Yum!
I love a good bagel with butter.
When I was a kid there was a bagel factory called Watson's in Irvington, nj that rivaled anything you found in NYC. They closed years ago.
I also love a bialy but they are really hard to find.
