MM Warriors - Three Steps to Good Health (As of 11/18)

Good evening everyone. Just a quick one for now. Need to make supper as I just got home and read all the posts.
Lisa, the pictures are great! It looks like a magazine shoot!!! I just found out I'm off tomorrow, so that will be my decorating day. Debating if I want to hang garland on the banisters coming down the stairs. I usually do, but not sure if I want to or not. Kind of tired of it.

Natalie (was it you?) glad your mom is feeling better!!

Robin, glad you seem to be feeling flatter today!

Ok, catch up with you all later!!

I sent the most updated list I have. Please clamor if your not there! I have the heart for list making but not always the organization for it! :lmao:

Ok, gotta catch up. We had appointments today! I'll read you all and get back in a few!:grouphug:

Hello everyone, just wanted to pop in again and say hello I am still here and on program... I did do ok during Thanksgiving, now have to get through the Christmas holiday :rotfl:

Shopping is so hard for me to remember the carb times  we was in Walmart today and I told hubby I was due a carb,,, he gets a box of triscuit and said, well, it is time to eat :lmao: the people around us was giggling, and I just ate my triscuits and smiled :rolleyes1

Hope everyone is doing ok, the posts are way too long for me to catch them all!

Did I miss an updated christmas card list? Or has one been sent out yet? I think we have a couple more peeps now :)

Lisa, Your decorations are beautiful, love your Santa and the bears are adorable!

I love the "old world" look, it's so elegant!

Awww, thank you! I have so much fun decorating - keeps me busy til the kids come home! I say kids because my sister shares hers with me.

Bev, just wanted to let you know I got your card today. I love it!! You all look like you were having such a good time!

Ok, Mike doesn't seem to interested in the computer this evening, so I have my laptop for now!

Off to read a bit on the website Robin posted. Going to do my cards tomorrow for sure!!

Malzer, good to see you! Glad you were able to keep the plan on Thanksgiving!

I hate to sound dramatic - but it's saved my marriage! I got it at Brookstones years ago and it's lasted all this time. There are a lot of sound choices. The ocean waves are pretty, but when they receed, he snores and I wake up, LOL! I like the constant brook sound. Tom tried once to get me a tape of ocean waves. It was on Christmas and I took it for a quick rest before making the rest of dinner. He didn't know it had whale calls on it. I had a nightmare that the children were being attacked! I always say, no birds, no whales - just water!

dramatic??? I know that sosososo well!!! Your husband and mine sound alot alike in that they are never home, so when he gets home he ends up sleeping on the couch--we never really spend time together--it has placed a major strain on our marriage. I'm going to look for this!! thanks!

Natalie,I have a white noise machine too and it works wonders. It just evens all the noises out and keeps them from spiking into loud rumbles or snorts. Good luck! I too think that we become numb to so many things the media shoves down our throats. I do not value their assessment of what's appropriate or not. I think a lot of the stuff they put on the air is just plain evil and we have become so desensitized to it that we don't even notice. JMHO

Barb, Thanks for the marriage support. My husband is extremely ADD and basically refuses to do any kind of behavior modification to help. The meds didn't work well as they caused bad side affects. He is a sweet guy and I do love him, I just don't really like him at this point and am so tired of being in charge of most everything. We're going out to dinner tonight to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary and I hope to do some serious talking in a neutral zone. He has a big tendency to blow up easily and then nothing gets dealt with. My strategy is that it will be difficult to do this in a restaurant. Wish me luck!

Lisa, Thanks for the list. I have to find a way to open it as my computer doesn't want to do EXCEL. My son-in-law will come home tonight and fix that for me. He is a real great, kind guy and I thank the Lord constantly for blessing my daughter with such a wonderful companion.

Wishing everyone a great Christmas season,
Carol

Feast upon the Words of Christ

you're so right about becoming desensitized to what we watch. I thought it was funny at the time but then reading today made me realize it WAS inappropriate.
Happy Anniversary--I hope you two can talk tonight without him closing his mind to what you need from him--praying right now.........

Speaking of Christmas decorations, I sort of collect angels and Old World Santas and I like to use all angel wrapping paper if I can find it. It's a good thing I bought a lot in years past, because for the last two years I can't find any at all! What is up with that?? I do know of a place I can order online, but if anyone has kids doing a fund raiser this coming year with wrapping paper and they have angels, keep me in mind for an order!:littleangel:

the pictures are wonderful! how much ribbon did you use for your tree? I have a girly tree for me (Zac has his tree with his ornaments--spiderman, hulk etc!) and I use pearls now but want to add ribbon but not sure how much to buy

This is so true, both of you! I was guilty of making joking comments as well, but it's very serious and children are also involved and watching what's going on. It breaks my heart. I am so blessed to know I stand on a solid foundation in my marriage. We would rather die than risk our family...Believe me, it hasn't always been easy, but it's been worth it - that's the bottom line. My husband does work a lot, but he calls me if he's going to be 10 minutes late and I can count on him for anything. I think I'll tell him that when he finally gets home - he's out making sure folks are safe and warm again! The slick roads cause a lot of accidents and the power gets knocked out more than you can imagine. He's not even on call this week and he's out, oh, well. I have Bonnie, the fire, leftovers and a good movie. Hope you all have a really nice night and that a lot of love is shared in your homes.:grouphug:

I use 3 full rolls and another that is cut twice to meet for the rest of the bottom so for an 8' tree, I'd say 4 full rolls. I have 2 small trees too. One in the family room and one in the bonus room that's got an ocean theme. So much fun!

Robin: DITTOS to all you said!!

You are so eloquent and expressed my feelings much better than I can. I am not experienced in communicating with people that don’t know me, so I’m surprised when misunderstood.

I thankfully accept all greetings and good wishes however expressed with no judgment of the sender.

People that know me accept me as I am, a complete Christmas nut that is rather passionate about expressing my belief in our guaranteed freedom of (not from) religion.

Christmas is my favorite time of year. Celebrating the birth of Jesus with music and pageantry fills my heart with joy and hope.

I am also totally in love with the mystique of Santa. :santa: My precious daughter still try’s to protect me from anything that might destroy my belief, so sweet. Working on Secret Santa surprises are fun and to me express the spirit of Christmas.

It’s such a beautiful time of love and good will that it hurts my heart to have controversy or misunderstandings of any kind.

I wish everyone a blessed Christmas and a joyful, love filled holiday season. :grouphug:

I still write a letter to Santa every year. Nowadays I email it.

I get in a quandary with this subject. I love Christmas, everything about it. I gravitate toward spiritual decorations rather than secular ones, but I love all of them! I love the cards with nativities, and the Thomas Kinkade ones that have the christian sayings. Marti and I have a tradition of singing Happy Birthday to Jesus at midnight on Christmas eve every year. (yes, we are grownups :rotfl:) I have a lot of problems with friends however. Many of my friends have really bad experiences with religion. Most of them are into new age and metaphysics. I have found that they love god as much as anyone, but if I bring up anything that sounds typically religious it seems to scare the heck out of them. In this group I've found a wonderful group of loving Christian women. Most of the time I have not had good experiences in this area. It's really hard for me to talk about it most of the time. But I love god beyond measure.

Lisa Wow!:banana::banana: You go girl! What wonderful decorating! Now I know where your son got his artistic talent from!

My tradition since being "out of mom's house" is to provide the birthday cake every Christmas. I says "Happy Birthday Jesus" and we sing it too. I love doing that. Just no candles. Don't have enough room on the cake for them all.

Well, if it was a big cake and you used the sides too then you could probably get the candles on it.

Lisa - beautiful pictures, I hope you dont mind that I shared them with a co-worker who loves to decorate like you do! she was very impressed! I have a big Santa like yours, but mine is a teddy bear...I LOVE HIM!! BTW, I dont put mine "in the closet" :rotfl: I let him stay out all year!!

Bev - dont hold your breath waiting on my card, I'll be lucky to get them to y'all by christmas!!

Kathy - got a good chuckle out of your comment about feeling flatter!! haha, still need a bra! DARN IT

Melanie - be sure to count your fiber in crackers...remember it has to be 2g....I havent found any triscuits in my store I could use...hopefully you can...we have very limited selections here. I had to use wheat thins.

Natalie - I laughed when you remarked on Lisa's comment about putting santa back in the closet...I thought the same thing when I read it!!

Nell and Kathy - that is so cool to sing happy birthday to Jesus, new tradtion starting this year in my house too!:santa:

I totally get it--my mom asked me not too long ago why I never try to get her to believe what I believe and I told her that thats not the way I do things. being a silent witness is in my opinion a better way to show Jesus to non believers than always 'talking' to them about who Jesus was and what he is to us. (8 years after I became saved my husband did without ONE word from me!!) God brings his children to him, we just sort of help out;) I really don't mind what people believe UNLESS you're worshipping Satan--then I cut ties. The status I put up last week about Merry Christmas on FB was interesting, the woman who wrote a bunch (someone I don't even know from church!!) and my nephew who scared me with what he was writing about--he worships the priest of odin??? something about the horned demon god--scared me so much I deleted the whole status off my wall!! I pray for him, would love it if you guys did too!!

over 2000 of them!! I love this Kathy! we've done that before here (no cake, just singing)
