MM Warriors - Three Steps to Good Health (As of 11/18)

Lisa Wow!:banana::banana: You go girl! What wonderful decorating! Now I know where your son got his artistic talent from!

You are so sweet! I can't even draw a stick figure, though, and he can make things from scratch. I used to sew a lot and I can make things from patterns or copy things pretty well, but from scratch I'm lost! It's fun though!

My tradition since being "out of mom's house" is to provide the birthday cake every Christmas. I says "Happy Birthday Jesus" and we sing it too. I love doing that. Just no candles. Don't have enough room on the cake for them all.

That is very sweet, Kathy and Nell, too!

Well guys, I'm beat so off to bed I go. Have a great evening everyone. I'll catch up in the morning!
Sweet dreams and God bless!!

I totally get it--my mom asked me not too long ago why I never try to get her to believe what I believe and I told her that thats not the way I do things. being a silent witness is in my opinion a better way to show Jesus to non believers than always 'talking' to them about who Jesus was and what he is to us. (8 years after I became saved my husband did without ONE word from me!!) God brings his children to him, we just sort of help out;) I really don't mind what people believe UNLESS you're worshipping Satan--then I cut ties. The status I put up last week about Merry Christmas on FB was interesting, the woman who wrote a bunch (someone I don't even know from church!!) and my nephew who scared me with what he was writing about--he worships the priest of odin??? something about the horned demon god--scared me so much I deleted the whole status off my wall!! I pray for him, would love it if you guys did too!!

We think so much alike, Natalie. I think living by example is the best way because many people are resistant to new information. You never know how long it will take someone to open their heart. Your nephew's belief - is this new to him? He's probably trying to 'find himself'. Is this an Eastern tradition like from India? I had never heard of it. He did sound angry and defensive. He must be searching. Hopefully, someone can be there for him when he is ready.

Night, Kathy! I've had my hot bath and I have a sad dog to deal with. It's too cold to go outside. Tom says he'll be home around 10. I hope so. He's already got a stuffy nose. I had fun helping my Mom on the internet today. She came over in her new Lee jeans from Kohls - a perfect example of all of Stacy and Clinton's Rules! She is so cute - 10 petite. I gave her so many compliments, we ended up buying her two more pair online! :surfweb:

Odin is a very old god worshiped in pre-christian times in Germany. A lot of the kids now are looking at pagan gods having found religion lacking. Since he was known as the "father god" it may actually be a version of the god we all know just having been handed down in a different culture.

It's really neat that you know so much, Nell! You are a great resource. Is this the same god as the Viking god? Since there is only one God, it might be a matter of labeling for this boy??

Bev, I miss my Boy Scouts! What a great time of life.

My DH is an Eagle Scout himself, and the scoutmaster for the Troop. DS is on his way to Eagle. Just one more merit badge and his project. I will then be buying a bumper sticker for my car that says I am proud of my Eagle Scouts! I am very proud of both of them. As scoutmaster mom, I get a lot of extra duties myself. I was popcorn kernel this year, and am secretary/treasurer for the Troop Committee. I was just asked today if I would make chili for the day they build the shelter for the Klondike Derby (an outdoor cold weather event).

Bev, just wanted to let you know I got your card today. I love it!! You all look like you were having such a good time!

Thanks Kathy. DisneyWorld really is our happy place. The pic of DH and I was taken at my mom's surprise 70th birthday party this June.

Natalie - I will pray that he comes to know the one true God!

Lisa - it sounds like you had a great day with your mom today. I just had to run down to my mom's and borrow vegetable oil. We had some bananas going soft, so DD10 decided to make banana/pineapple bread. Not on my diet, but the rest of the family love it. It is actually my mom's recipe. She also sent home peanut butter fudge. My DS loves g'ma's p-nut butter fudge. It is really yummy. She has snack day at work tomorrow and decided to take that, so she made 3 batches.

If I didn't say so before, I thought your decorating was gorgeous! I haven't even started yet, and it all has to come down before we leave on 1/1/10.

Do I like know way too many facts about way too many things? I think I need a life! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Nell - I love your diverse knowledge. It is one of my favorite things about you. :dance3:

Well, I need to send e-mail to let piano teacher know we won't be there tomorrow night since DD has a band concert. Nothing more fun than the 5th grade concert. They just started band in September, so it can be quite amusing. I need to remember to take my Motrin before I leave.:lmao:

Have a great night everyone!

Nell - you are amazing with your diverse knowledge. I think it is great. We can always learn something.

I forgot to mention earlier that I was reading the OTHER site last night for a while after all of you had gone to bed. It seems KW is having some problems with her blood sugar too and Diane recommended she go back to step one. She has lost nothing on step 2 and starting having a return of some of her health issues. Sound familiar Robin???? She was really organized in her timings too so that was not an issue. I think she went back on Metform at Diane's suggestion. It is so tricky for those with diabetes.

Have a great evening all for those still up and sweet dreams for those abed - no animals chasing you!!!

so true Lisa--example is the best way. I don't know how new this is to him but I believe he is trying to find himself. he did say something about a word being sanscrit and I think thats Indian. He's very defensive and angry, just getting by right now, blames eveyone else for his problems. I'm afraid the people who will be there will be pagans--which I assume (I know what that does to u and me!!;) ) are witches? devil worshippers? I hate to say it but I don't know that much about pagans. praying that his guardian angel is watching over him night and day!

I like to believe that people believe the one and only God and are calling him different names. Except when they think that God wants them to kill people. Killing people in the name of 'God' or whatever you call him is NOT in the Bible!

yes, thats what I read, its a Viking god. but he did bring up some horned demon something or another that scared me so I hit the little delete button--I just didn't have it in me to go down that path with him.

My Mom and sister were wonderful at sewing. The last time I tried to sew something, I sewed a sleeve onto the neck opening :rotfl:

I think it's the same one. I looked it up to check and it did say it was a pre-christian norse god. I don't think that is nearly as scary as some things younger people are getting into unwittingly.

Hi Everyone - I'm out here. Just getting by. Not completely on plan, but not really off either...if that makes sense. So busy with birthdays, end of year work stuff and family matters. Hope everyone is doing well and I miss you all!!!

MUAH!
