MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Thank you Barb! I'm full now. I'm scared of the cravings coming back. I set the alarm for 4 1/2 hours from now and I'm making broccoli soup. I imagine I can have a cup of broccoli soup for a snack in between if I get hungry again.

I think I'm getting a headache? That didn't happen to anyone else when starting step two did it? Could be a coincidence. I'm going to go and lay down a while.

You probably have a headache from worrying about messing up. Maybe you could keep a list for a few days until you get in the swing of it. You can do this!:banana:Only eat half of this guy.

We met some really nice people today. :) It was cool. I had been looking in craigslist for a dining table that everyone can fit at for Thanksgiving. We found a nice set, it's the kind with the chairs on wheels and it has a leaf in it to make it long. The nicest thing was the people. They were really sweet. The couple had made a beautiful garden in the back with a pergola covered with thick vines. After talking for a bit the wife brought me back to show me. They had a pretty golden retriever. And they are going to bring the table to us next week because he has a van he can drive. He's not well, so we'll have to unload it, but it's a big help. She gave me enourmous lilly bulbs too. They are the size of a turnip. I have no idea what kind of lillies come out of bulbs like that, but I think I'm going to be finding out one of these days! :rotfl: I got them all in the ground beside the carport, in the rain of course. Doesn't that always happen when your trying to plant something? It was lovely to meet nice people.

I love, love, love meeting sweet new people--gives you hope that there really are nice people in the world!!

Thanks for letting me join you here. I am in week 5 on
step One. I feel that this will be a great motivation for me.
I look forward to reading everyone's post and this will be
very helpful.

Honeygram

Welcome Honeygram!! Glad you're here!

Here is the first paragraph from a website (posting the site too).

What is Adrenal Fatigue?

Adrenal fatigue is a collection of signs and symptoms, known as a "syndrome", that results when the adrenal glands function below the necessary level. Most commonly associated with intense or prolonged stress, it can also arise during or after acute or chronic infections, especially respiratory infections such as influenza, bronchitis or pneumonia. As the name suggests, its paramount symptom is fatigue that is not relieved by sleep but it is not a readily identifiable entity like measles or a growth on the end of your finger. You may look and act relatively normal with adrenal fatigue and may not have any obvious signs of physical illness, yet you live with a general sense of unwellness, tiredness or "gray" feelings. People suffering from adrenal fatigue often have to use coffee, colas and other stimulants to get going in the morning and to prop themselves up during the day.

Lisa recommended a book called "From Fatigued to Fantastic." Can't remember the doctor who wrote it, sorry. She said it really helped with her fibromyalgia. I ordered that book off amazon and also "Adrenal Fatigue."

I have adrenal fatigue too! goodness, I can't believe I can walk around:rotfl: I read alittle bit of this book--have to pull it out again

You are doing fine. Remember, you can still eat neutral foods as snacks and with your meals so the broccoli soup will help. I remember hunger, but not cravings, so eat, eat, eat until you're satisfied. I hope your headache goes away after your nap.

Thank you Barb! You've been a great help to me and I appreciate it! :) The headache is gone, I think it was stress like Lisa suggested.

Adrenal fatigue is what caused that weird illness I had for several years Natalie. It's not nearly as bad as it was. In reading other people experiences I think I may have chronic fatigue also. A doctor did tell me she suspected I did several years ago. I have body aches, but I know people with fibro that are crippled with it. I know that I don't have anything like that. I may get that book, or I may just try the ribose and see what happens. With this plan my body is healing so much!

Daniele, I got the unsweetened coconut at the health food store. The macaroons took about 2 mins to make. Super simple.

Barb, It's so nice to meet someone that likes meatloaf sandwiches for breakfast, too. That is my all time favorite sandwich. Way to go on the weight loss!!! Half way there is great! I have sooo much to lose that half way would be a dream.

I had a conversation with one of my older sisters a few weeks back that was very special. I had told her, back in August, that I was doing this Metabolism Miracle diet and she was really happy for me. When I talked to her this time and told her that I had lost 25lbs she broke down and started crying. She said that she had been afraid of losing me and that she was just so happy that I had found a way to get the weight off. It was wonderful to be reminded that this is not just my journey, but my family's too.

Okay, I'm all teary now when I think back on that conversation with my sister. Am so glad that it's safe here to share personal things like that. As Barb put it: No Texan Black Hearts here.

Have almost finished the Luke Skywalker costume for my grandson. Trying to get him to stand still long enough to pin up the hem a little was a real challenge, but I think I'm on the downhill side. Will try to post some pictures of him when it done. If he'll stand still!

:wave2:Good evening everyone!

I just spent a little time catching up. What yappers we are! lol

I'm a granny again! ::yes:: Audri finally decided to introduce herself to us this morning shortly before 5 am. She's a tiny little thing, 5lbs 9oz and 18" long. She's tiny all over, like a little sprite or fairy. Mom and baby are doing beautifully, daddy's chest is about to burst! lol ...and granny needs to finish up with the painting mess!

I see Nell is doing the Step II first day, panic dance. Did anyone NOT do this? My biggest issue was with putting the carbs with the meals. My brain didn't want to process it. Doesn't that speak volumes about my all or nothing personality? lol Nell, I felt sluggish and bulky in the beginning of Step II. I don't remember a headache at all. You can do this girlie, you can do anything!!

Welcome Honeygram! :jumping1:

 My eyes are all out of focus from lack of sleep. You all have a wonderful evening!

Hi Pam! Congratulations!!! party: and :welcome: to baby Audri!

I had a big bowl of broccoli soup! It's very filling! This is so weird. I get hungry, I eat and then I'm not hungry. It's kind of surreal. I'm not sure if that completely explains it either. There's just something that is not there anymore in the way food reacts in my body. I'm getting all teary, so I'm going to shut up now. :)

I'm looking forward to seeing the costume! You may have to let him wear it to bed to get a still photo! :lmao:

Good evening everyone! Had a long day today, as I decided to clean my one office this evening. It is the big one, so tomorrow night I'll only have the small one, which takes me about an hour and a half.
I am trying to catch up on all the posts I've missed. Only on page 9!!

I got my book today, From Fatigued to Fantastick. So, I started reading it today on my lunch. Tried to go online, but my computer wouldn't cooperate.

Well guys, feeling really tired tonight, so I'm heading to bed.
Wow, 2 days that I wasn't really tired. Could I finally starting to get a little energy? I sure do hope so.
Ok, good night all. Sweet dreams and God Bless.
Robin, enjoy your talk with Ken. Tell him we will make sure you don't decide to run. If you even think of it, I'll have to come down there and just tie you up and wait for Ken to come home!!
Ok, good night everyone.

Carol: What a tender moment with your sister. I’m glad you could share that with us. I can’t wait to see ‘Luke’!:3dglasses

Pam: Congratulations on your new addition! Sweet little cherub! Ah, oh, you revealed another thing where we are identical – all or nothing syndrome! Get some rest; I have a feeling those kids are going to need you soon.:cloud9:

Nell: I'm glad you are feeling better. Food is to be enjoyed, remember? No stress zone.:flower3:

We did get hungrier on Step 2 in the beginning when meal time approached so don't worry if that happens. Isn't it wonderful how we really are eating to live and not the other way around? I used to think that was trite, but it's true!

Sleep tight, Kathy! I'm tired too so I probably won't be on late tonight. I put a turkey breast in the crock pot and I'll make some mashed cauli now. Not sure what else yet. I'm pooped. Hope you all have a nice night!:thumbsup2

Anyone know off hand how many pieces of pineapple we are allowed?

Hi folks, one hour to go and cannot WAIT to get out of here today...just not "feeling the love" if you know what I mean! :upsidedow

OMG though, have GOT to tell you guys this one! Since we are having issues connecting by phone from London, Ken sent me an e-mail about 20 minutes ago and said that he has to go BACK to China on Friday and he was so afraid to tell me that he went out to a wonderful London Jeweler and bought us both "Promise Bands" (his words) and had both of our names inscribed in them and is going to send mine before he leaves London on Friday. OMG am I ready to wear a promise band? And who even DOES that anymore?? And what the heck am I promising? :scared1::scared1:

Can you imagine what they would say on the old thread if they started reading about us praying for OOBIES and TATAS????!!!:lmao::lmao:

Barb and Kate - it will be a sad day when we get in trouble for whining and gloating...I mean FOR REAL?? What else is there!!!:thumbsup2

Nell - the gym mirrors are just the skinny spandex princesses way of making sure us chubby people get to VISUALIZE our prior excesses!!! Seriously though, it is somewhat motivating to know that some day I wil see the old me looking back! I felt out of sorts for the first 5 days on step 2 last time...so Im prepared for it this time...dont know why, but I remember feeling just plain cruddy...but it did go away!

Carol - so sweet of your sister to say that to you, and to be so supportive of your efforts!

Pam CONGRATULATIONS GRANNY!! Such a blessing to welcome a new life into the family. I cracked up at your description of the step 2 PANIC
DANCE...that is SUCH a PERFECT name for it!! I will be doing the Panic Re-Launch Dance on Sunday!! Y'all better be prepared for some CLASS A Whining!! You know me, I am such a baby about these things!!

Kathy - Thanks, and I will tell Ken that you are prepared to come hold me down til he gets back!! Im sure he will be quite appreciative!

Lisa - OMG, what about this promise band thing? I think I remember getting something like that from my boyfriend in 7th grade and it turned my finger green....:rotfl2:
