MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Good afternoon everyone,

Just a quick hello for now, father-in-law here working again:) So I will try to drop in a little through out the day and read... Not sure on the Thanksgiving dinner for us here in WV yet.... some want to cheat a little some want to try to stay on program... my be a mixed table:lmao:( when is it not!)

I emailed Diane about us starting step 2 on Monday and then cheat on Thursday... we will see if she thinks it is a good or bad idea... :confused3 but, at any note we would only have to goto step 1 for a few days or something... So anyways still not sure;) but hope all is well, and will chat some more later today .
Oh just a little hooting on my part... my tight jeans(the stretch ones that cling to ya): are getting looser!!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I am so excited!!party:

Robin: Your Shakelogy has tons of greens in it. Good job! Nothing you do without bad intent can ever be your fault; your post tested LCF and we were able to see their true colors. We would never have been free to talk about products that are helpful without moving here. I just read Nell’s post and she was much more eloquent, calling you an instrument of change, which is exactly what I was trying to say.:rotfl:

Melanie: I put a layer of washed grapes in a pie pan and freeze them, then fill a ziplock bag. They don’t stick together. I have come to love them for my late night TV snack. I bite them into halves or fourths and they taste like little popsicles and last a long time. I freeze pomegranate seeds the same way. I need to find out how many of those I could have in a salad. It’s one of my favorite winter salad additions. They are also fantastic on top of cottage cheese. Yeah on the loose jeans!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Carol: I can’t wait to see your recipes. I’ve always wanted to try sweet potato pie. My husband would love it.

Robin: Yes, on the liver cleanse. I don’t take a separate B12 because of my powder that has in it everything Dr. Teitelbaum recommends. B12 is wonderful. I picked up a great new client at my open house, but no new buyers for the house itself. I’m waiting now for an answer to our counter offer. Hoping reason prevails! Abby didn't mention if she was off plan, just that she was overwhelmed with going full time with the business. I plan to contact her again soon.

Tom and I are watching a 5 star documentary on our food supply called "Food Inc." Its hard to watch, but I wish everyone could see it. It makes me want to grow all my own food. It's better to make informed choices than to trust the system, though. JMHO. I highly recommend this film.

I have a ton of research to do today so I'm going to try to stay on task!:surfweb:

Good Morning MM warriors,

It's Monday and my first day back on step1. I'm doing good so far. The weekend was awful. I guess the binge created laziness. I'm trying to pep myself up this morning though. Yesterday, I precooked a couple of meals for this week and I'm going to fininsh the prep work this evening. I'm really looking forward to my new beginning. I pray all is going well with everyone.

Barb - sorry to hear about your binge, but I know how you feel. Congrats for getting back on track. I'll try and pop in later to let you know how my day is going...I have to go fill my water glass :goodvibes.

Have a wonderful MM day. Oh, has anyone heard how Tom's wedding went?

Sandra

Sandra: Welcome back to Step 1. It's not the beginning, because you made great progress before; it's just a super-charged interval. :banana:Good job on the water!

Does anybody know where the weight chart is for the Steps in the book? I've scoured it and I can't find it. Step 2 seems to be bringing me more results than Step 1, but it took awhile to kick in. I'd like to read that chart again.

Nevermind, I found it on the blog. Is it not in the book? I edited this post.

Robin: I take 500mcg of B12 in my B Complex that comes with the vitamin powder I take. How much is Diane recommending?

:love:Hi Everyone I have missed all of you and I hope you guys are drinking your water and moving your bodies!! pixiedust:

I find myself on Facebook most of the time and what cracks me up is I resisted for the longest time about getting on Facebook and I am glad I did it really is cool!

Does everyone have Facebook? We can do our Geriatric MM group on there and close it to the public, invitation only. Just an  I wish they had smileys. The other thing I like is it tells you when someone replies to your post or adds one of their own. My husband told me I am addicted to facebook :confused3 How is this possible??

I have been so busy the past 3 weeks!! It looks like things may slow down a little this week

For some reason I am not able to do step 2 like I did step 1. Step 2 seems like alot of work :teacher: and when I get busy I lose track of time. I am still losing but I think its because I keep going back to step 1.

I hope to be able to go through and see what everyone is up to.

:grouphug:

Robin: Tutu's recipe is for Thanksgiving so it's better than a 'real' cheat, since it is an 11 - 20. Barb's has no pumkin in it, just flavoring. I ordered some of the pumpkin syrup. I'll keep you posted.

You don't have to publish your reply, tee, hee, just teasing. It's fun to hear about the romance!

Oh I have the pumpkin syrup so I am going to check out Barb's receipe, did she post it on the receipe link?

Hi Everyone,
I didn't get the job! :sad1: I was out this morning and when I got home there was a phone message. I am so disappointed because I really thought I was going to get it. I thought for sure I would have gotten a job by now - it's been 6 months. The woman who interviewed me said they received over 100 applications and narrowed it down to 6 for interviewing. I have applied to over 60 ads since May and that is the only interview I got. It is such a bad time to be out of work.

To make it worse I'm feeling mad at my former employer for putting me out here in this environment. They gave me 2 weeks pay for every year and 10 vacation days for a total of 26 weeks severance. I worked for an Episcopal church as the parish administrator (everything that wasn't liturgical was my job). The endowment which finances half of their budget suffered in the stock market and they felt they couldn't afford to pay me. I know it was the priest's idea. She was new to the priesthood (2 yrs.) and this was her first rectorship. She's still a business woman. I wasn't too mad at the time because I thought it wouldn't be so hard to find a job. Now when I look at their balance it has totally recovered - just like I told her it would.

I'm sorry I'm venting like a scorned female. Thanks for listening.

Kathy, good morning! I'm glad you slept well last night! Ida has weakened to a tropical storm so it shouldn't be bad. I don't think anyone here is in that area, but K.W. is I think. It's going past us, we have the wind and clouds, but it's way out to sea. It's nice to have wind though. It doesn't happen that often as we are a little inland.

That detox sounds great to me too Pony, I may do it when I get a chance to get the oils. I really want a lemon tree, they grow very fast, but I want to be in my forever home before I plant one. And that's only if we remain in Florida. Marti really likes it here. I really don't like things this hot. Plus I'll never have my log cabin. The termites will have it for lunch! If we ever got into a position where we could have a home with a caged in pool (need the cage for the bugs) then it would be tolerable. I could just live in the pool for half the year! :rotfl: The benefit really would be the ability to year round garden.

Melanie, I'm glad your jeans are looser. I love that feeling! Isn't it nice? Are you doing extra bending and moving just because you can?

Lisa, I want to see "Food Inc." really bad! I've been waiting! Is it out on video? I hope you have a nice, effective research day today Lisa, and find it relaxing rather than stressing!

Sandra, it's so good to see you! We missed you! If you go on facebook, you can see all of Tom's wedding photos. Do you know how to use it?

Ladies, I have 2 pieces of good news this a.m.

1 - I went this a.m. and had the needle aspiration done on my right oobbay. It deflated instantly (I got to watch on ultrasound machine), and he says it was nothing but a fluid filled cyst. :cool1: I don't have to go back for 6 months.

2 - DH said he has noticed the weight loss and can see it in my clothes!:thumbsup2 It has only taken 13 weeks and 16 pounds, but I am on my way to thin!

Disney,

I know I am a week behind, but I am so glad that your oobbay is better!!

Congrats on DH noticing your weight loss. I think it takes people who see you everyday longer to notice. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry Diane. I know you wanted this job. I know health care is the one business still hiring. Have you tried administrative areas in Hospitals? They usually don't advertise in the paper, you have to go to the individual websites.

Diane I am so sorry to hear about your job situation! You can vent all you like!!:headache: That's what we are here for!

My bras are fitting wonderful. They were all way too tight when I began. So far none are too big. It's so much more comfortable without them cutting into me. :)

Lisa, I know you already placed your order but some stores like victoria secrets will measure you when you go in and help you find the right size. If the one that comes doesn't work, maybe you have a store like that near by. It can be any lingerie store.

My bras where too tight!! and now they feel great, now back fat hanging out!

Thank you Lisa, It could be much worse....I could still be drowning in the sea of carbs, but you guys threw me a life jacket....thanks!

Sandra

It's great to see you, Laura! I love FB too, but only for brief comments. My personal feeling is that we can be more free with each other here and not worry about all of our friends, business associates, etc. seeing what we are talking about, as on FB. Here we sometimes need to 'bare our souls' to get to the root of our MM issues. There is no one that brings what you do to our group, so I hope you will be a regular! We love you!

Now, let's see what we can do about you and Step 2! Can you set a timer somehow on a watch or phone and/or have a pad handy to write down your times. What works for me is to have lunch within 5 hours of breakfast and then to know that dinner will be more than 5 hours and have an 11-20 in the afternoon. Is it possible with your work that you could have lunch at about the same time every day? That would give you a midpoint from which to calculate. Let us help you figure this out. You've sure helped us with our water and exercise!:banana::banana:

Lisa - go for the gym if you can find one, I swear I feel so GREAT after I am done there...you would think 2-3 miles on the treadmill would have me laying in a sweaty, exhausted heap on the floor, but NO!! I feel like I could go another 2-3 miles when Im done!! Who would have though that at 50 pounds overweight still, I would have all this energy! BTW, glad you gave Tutu a ZAP too...what was she thinking!!! LOL, Love you Laura!!! But theres plenty more ZAPS where those two came from!! ;)

:worship::worship::worship::worship:
OH I so deserved my ZAPS!!! :guilty: I don't know what I was thinking, It was my evil twin who at the #10 at McDonalds.:rotfl:

Nell: Food Inc. is out in DVD. We got it from Blockbuster online. It's very well done by an investigative journalist.

I have my times set on my phone and I have a book I bought called Diet Minder where I log in what I eat and the times. It feels like I am eating to many carbs foods and not enough veggies and for some reason my IBS flares up. :confused3
