MM then DCA - which entrance?

Considering MM at DL next Tuesday and then hopping over to open DCA for Soarin', TSMM and Screamin'.

Is is worth the time away from MM to go back to use the DCA entrance at the GC? We would FP Soarin;, ride Soarin' then line up to go to TSMM.

Should we just use the main DCA entrance?

We do not need to get WOC fastpasses.

MM will be 8-9 at DL. by the time it ends you will have an hour before DCA enters. I would definately go over to the GCH entrance.

I would not go the the GCH entrance. I would:

-MM from 8-9
-Get a FP for Space/Indy at 9
-Ride maybe 1 more ride (like BTMRR, which always has short short lines in the morning) and hop before 9:30
-DCA opens at 9:30, be one of the first ones in line for Soarin
-If you are on one of the first rides, you should exit by about 9:40-9:50
-Get Soarin FPs really quickly
-Walk to the rope drop around Grizzly River Run and wait until it drops at 10.
-Sprint to Toy Story with everyone else

The GCH entrance doesn't really give you a huge advantage, especially if you don't need WoC FP. Plus, the extra distance from the main entrance to Soarin does not make up for the added time/distance of walking all the way into the hotel, etc.

It's also crucial that you don't wait more than 5-10 min for Soarin because you might miss rope drop and have a long TSMM line. If you encounter an already long line for Soarin, I say just get the FP and line up for rope drop, and, perhaps, later in the day you can come back and get another FP for it so your can ride twice.

I'd been wondering how to work that! How do you work WOC FPs into that? Also, if you aren't using a MM credit (but it is a MM day) is it worth it to venture into DL just to get FPs and ride BTMRR?

Even if you don't have MM, I would still go to DL to at least grab a Space/Indy FP for later in the day.

2 weekends ago (saturday) we had a very ambitious morning. DL opened at 9 (MM at 8 but we didn't have it) and DCA opened at 10.

We were at the front of the DL rope drop, although there were already people in the park for MM. Here's how our morning went:

-At 9:00 sharp, I ran and got Space FPs (for 9:40-10:40)
-Ran back and rode Indy
-Rode Big Thunder
-Right as it struck 9:40, we got Indy FPs
-Hopped quickly
-Ran and got Soarin FPs
-Got WoC FPs
-Lined up for DCA rope drop about 2 min before 10AM

Now I don't necessarily recommend this because it takes a lot of things falling into place. But it is possible. Getting WoC FP does not take any longer than getting FP for a ride, in my own experience (granted the highest crowd level in which I've gotten WoC FP has been a Saturday in Feb.)

I don't know.....the last 3 times we were at the front of the rope by Bugs Land waiting for it to drop to "walk" to TSMM and we watched as the people who were at the GCH entrance were walked in front of us to TSMM. By the time we got there the wait was 30+ mins.

This time we will try the GCH entrance since we always stay on site. Going in April or I would report back sooner.

PLUS! the GCH entrance, you may get stopped if you are not staying at the hotel, but if you have bought something in the hotel and have ur reciept that actually does work to get you in that entrance..or they might of changed this, but it was like that for a while

Since the OP wants to ride and get FPs for Soarin', it really makes no sense to go in the Grand's entrance. If that wasn't part of the plan, it might make sense, but with Soarin' on the wishlist, you're giving up all TSMM benefits by backtracking for Soarin' anyway.

And FWIW when we tried the Grand's entrance in this way, we weren't walked anywhere, and the regular people got to TSMM well before us. It's all just up to the CMs workign that day and how they work it! There are NO guarantees.

You don't need to use the GCH entrance to be a part of this group of people. You can be a regular visitor, enter through the main entrance, walk past Soarin and around Grizzly Peak, and line up right there.

But I have witnessed this before as well (except that you aren't walked, i've always seen a mass chaos crowd). The rope drop crowd by the Little Mermaid often gets a head start.

Which "rush" are you talking about? The TSMM rush? That's not until 10. OP is not interested in WoC FP. So what are they gaining by going in the GCH at 9? They get to wait 30 min before Soarin opens? I think I'd rather be riding other things at that point.

Plus, OP will be coming from DL. So to go through DTD and into GCH just for the special entrance, would not really give them an advantage for riding Soarin at 9:30. It'd be better just to traditionally hop a little before 9:30.

The rush of people coming in the front gate at 9:30. They could beat them all onto Soarin, get a soarin FP, or be in front of them for the rope drop to TSMM.
