No it wasn't.
Legacy FP was equal opportunity for everyone IF.....
If what ... you showed up ?
I will happily admit that there are elements to legacy FP, in very specific cases, that didn't offer perfect equal opportunity .... but in comparison, it far more approximated an equal opportunity than FP+.
Thats it, you literally just had to show up when the FPs were released. First come, first serve, every single day.
Now, if you couldn't get there for RD, if its your arrival day, sure other people will have picked through those FPs.
At noon there were fewer available than at RD, at 5pm fewer still. Thats fair, of course, thats STILL true.
The difference now is that on my first day of my trip I was able to book FPs 60 days ago, some else was able to 70 days ago, second day I was able to 61 days ago, someone else, 70 days ago, 3rd day I was able to 62 days ago, someone else was able to 70 days ago, so on and so forth.
That is, by the very concept of "equal opportunity" unequal. To try and argue anything else just starts looking silly.
Now, you can argue its ok, that its fair, that giving onsite guests a perk is ok, that its a GOOD thing for people to be able to book at 60 +10, but it does not create equal opportunity.
All fps available at park opening every single day, far more closely approximates equal opportunity.
