I'm so glad you are both home and doing well. Get plenty of rest whenever you can. I too would like to hear the whole story when you get time. Scary labor stories are very interesting as long you know that mom and baby are okay.:thumbsup2 I learned to type pretty well one-handed on the computer while nursing.:rotfl:

So glad you and the little one are home safely. I would love to hear more about it when you have taken some time to rest and enjoy your little one.

okay the long sorted story......

I had been in preterm labor since 32 weeks. I had this with first DD too and she wound up being born exactly on her due date so I was kinda blowing it off. However, when I mentioned it to the doctor he was upset because I was a previous C-section. My practice seems leery about VBACs etc (which I wasn't planning on anyhow but......) so I was put on breathine and bed rest until I basically delivered. I was in and out of the hospital 3 times with really bad contractions. The last time I was there the midwife from my practice was there but the doctor that was there was an on call doctor because all of mine drs where at a wedding. The midwife told the on call doctor he needed to do my c-section because I was having bad contractions and several times nows. However I was not dilating so the doctor refused. The midwife said she just had a feeling something wasn't right. So she sent us home, but promised to call the next day because there was an OR available and the doctors from the practice would be back. She spoke to them early in the am and they agreed they needed to do the c-section. Well good thing, it turns out my uterus was paper thin and the doctors believe rupture would have been coming in the next few hours/day. A rupture could have simply meant a horrible experience th at turn out okay all the way up to include the death of both myself and Juliette. The one doctor said that the midwife insisting the c-section be done saved my life. I also had lesions from my first c-section that where not expected so that complicated the surgery quite a bit. They thought for a time that they would not be able to tie my tubes because she couldn't get to them. Doctor was awesome and it turned out fine. Baby had some heart issues during delivery but they were quickly ruled out as nothing permadent or anything affecting her and she was able to go to the regular nursery. I on the other hand would have more drama. My iron level had dropped somewhere at the end of my pregnancy and then again durihng surgery (even though my blood loss was low) soooo... I wound up with 2 blood tranfusions before I left the hospital. And long story not so short now I am sitting at home with a healthy baby, me drastically on the mend, and no issues other than going to the bathroom (cause all that iron LOL) Realizing how close I was to thingsx going very very wrong I have found myself thanking God and everyone for their prayers a lot!!!  I think that was everything. Still not sure how to post a photo... they directions have never worked for me....so I'll email to the first person whose email address I can find that I know can post LOL as soon as I find the cutest picture of pip sweak:rolleyes1 (She sweaks a lot so DH gave her the nickname pip sweak)

Hugs to you sweetie and that precious girl of yours!!! Sending you my addy via PM.

That was scary for sure, I'm glad that you got your DR though. Not having your own stinks. My Dr went out of town on family business so I knew I was going to go into labor. Another DR from his practice, whom I had only met in passing, had to deliver DS5. DS's heart rate dropped to nearly 0 a few times, good thing the nurse, who I knew from school, was on the ball. That and I was the only one there.

With DD I just about bled to death after her delivery, so no more babies for me. Not that I want anymore but knowing I'm done was rough for a bit.

Rest up love! And we will talk more soon!!

Wow, I am really glad that nurse was so on the ball and insistant as I am sure you are also. Take care and get the rest you need.

Rebecca

So glad the midwife was there and that all is fine now. I can't wait to see photos of the new pip squeak. BTW That is the nick name I had for my little sister.

Thank goodness for efficient nurses. The medical field would be lost without them. So glad you and Juliette are fine, that must have been scary for you and your husband. Now go eat a banana to firm things up.:) And give pip squeak a kiss for all of us.
