I am so excited to surprise my husband with this party for his birthday...the desserts looks so good. We both have a sweet tooth.

I was looking forward to eating breakfast here. We had a 7:30 ADR and got here a few minutes early. We had a short walk from our room to Kona. Here is what we saw on the way:

This came with it:

Strawberry Compote. I enjoyed the Tonga toast. Crispy on the outside and mushy bananas inside. They were a little sweet. I ate all the outside and some of the insides. I rated this :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD rated it: :thumbsup2 She said it was too sweet.

There is also syrup and butter there for DD's breakfast:

IMG_0508_zps3399b612.jpg

Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes - with macadamia nut butter, pineapple sauce and instead of breakfast meat, she ordered scrambled eggs for her side and they asked her if she wanted melted cheese on the eggs! I liked the pancakes with the butter and syrup. I picked around the pineapple. I rated these pancakes :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I didn’t taste the eggs. DD rated her breakfast: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 She said that they were really good and the eggs with cheese were delish! She also added that she loved the coffee in the press pots, although the coffee at Jiko was better.

This was an excellent meal. It was one credit each on the dining plan. I can't find the receipt, but looked at allears and added up what we had. It ws $30.47 without tax and tip. We were finished In less than 45 minutes and walked to the TTC to take the monorail to Epcot.

NEXT UP: Lunch Via Napoli

That breakfast looks so good! We have an ADR here for January and can't wait to try it.;) Was there pineapple in the pancakes or just on top?

The dessert party looks awesome! Ove the pictures of my favorite place. :goodvibes

I'm with your DD on the toast being too sweet and it was big!

We had a 12:30 ADR at Via Napoli. We showed up a little early and waited about 5 minutes.

IMG_0540_zps26b76067.jpg

This is the chandelier in the waiting area.
We were seated and Nicholas was our waiter. He told us a story about how he and his friends were recruited by Disney to come to the US on a working visa to work in Via Napoli. He told us how people from Disney went to Italy and interviewed. He said that is how they get all the waiters and waitresses in the various restaurants in the World Showcase to come and work here. He told us that in Italy, he was a chef, and that's what he wants to do here in the US. He brought us drinks. I had:

IMG_0544_zps1fd05a6a.jpg

Cannoli Martini - Biscotti liqueur, cream chocolate and crushed cannoli shell. This was very good, but as many of the drinks in Disneyworld, it was not strong. DD had:

IMG_0545_zps3163dd31.jpg

Pinot Noir. She was so excited that this was half a carafe! He brought out the bread service:

IMG_0541_zps831991b1.jpg

…with dipping olive oil. The bread was warm, and ok.
For my appetizer, I ordered:

IMG_0542_zps595c4443.jpg

Arancini - fried risotto balls filled with mozzarella and meat ragu. These were good. I give them :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD gives them: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
DD ordered:

IMG_0543_zps737dde0a.jpg

Calamari Fritti - corn-crusted rings served with spicy tomato sauce. These were also very well done! I gave this :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 and DD gave them
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 She said both appetizers were great!

VIA NAPOLI CONTINUED IN NEXT POST....................

For her entrée DD ordered:

IMG_0546_zps88784adf.jpg

IMG_0547_zpsa1e66075.jpg

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 She said the pasta was cooked perfectly!
Unfortunately all this was so much food. We finished about half of it, but saved room for dessert.

For dessert I ordered:

IMG_0548_zps8570261a.jpg

Pistachio gelato. This gelato was excellent! It almost tasted like there was coconut in it. When I went to Italy, I fell in love with gelato, but could never find any in the US on par with what I had there, but now I have! This was just as good!!!! I gave this :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD also gave it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 We finished this dessert!! DD ordered:

IMG_0549_zpsb7cbfea7.jpg

Zeppole di Ricotta - Ricotta cheese fritters, served with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. She also ordered expresso. This was also very good, but I was so full and was concentrating on the gelato. I still give this :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD gve it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
:cheer2:
This was one of the better meals we had, but also a filling meal. I would go back here but not for three courses. I would share a pizza, have some wine and that gelato. Nicholas told us that we can also get the gelato in a kiosk outside the restaurant, which I may also do.

This meal was one credit each on the dining plan. The Bill was $92.66, but the Drinks were $27.69, which went on a credit card because I ran out of gift cards. :)

NEXT UP: KARAMELL KUCHE

While at Epcot, we stopped at Karamell Kuche. We had been there once before, but didn't get anything. This time we bought:

IMG_0886_zps2b90cc9f.jpg

Caramel roll with marshmallow cream and chocolate covered caramel with sea salt! We didn't eat these right away, but brought them back to the room to put in the fridge. We finally got to eat them after our trip was over and we were at my Mom's house on the West Coast of Florida!

They were excellent. I especially liked the one with sea salt!!
I rated the Caramel roll :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 and the one with sea salt :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD rated them both :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 and said she didn't realize how soft the caramel would be and can't wait to go back in January to get more! These were both snack credits and both were $2.99 for a total of $5.98.

NEXT UP: NARCOOSSEE'S

That breakfast looks so good! We have an ADR here for January and can't wait to try it.;) Was there pineapple in the pancakes or just on top?

Just macadamia nuts inside the pancakes and pineapples on top.

The dessert party looks awesome! Ove the pictures of my favorite place. :goodvibes

I'm with your DD on the toast being too sweet and it was big!

Yes very sweet, but the outsides of the toast were crispy and good though!

Those desserts look so good!! and you can't beat that view! I think the view alone is worth the price.

Love that mug!!:thumbsup2 It's the perfect size!
Yes that view was great! Glad you love that mug ;) I love it too!

I am so excited to surprise my husband with this party for his birthday...the desserts looks so good. We both have a sweet tooth.

You both will love the desserts and the VIEW!!

We had a 5:30 ADR at Narcoossee's. We got there a little early, which we did almost all our ADRs. Narcoossees was on the far end of the Grand Floridian, with a great view of the Magic Kingdom. We had an early ADR so we didn't see the fireworks from there.

We ordered a drink. DD ordered:

IMG_0552_zpsd825fe4a.jpg

Pinot Noir and Pinotage wine flight.
I ordered:

IMG_0553_zps95edf0d0.jpg

Magical Star Cocktail X-Fusion Organic Mango and Passion Fruit Liqueur, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice, and a souvenir Multicolored Glow Cube. This was ok, very weak, but I got to keep the glow cube!! I have a video of it changing color. Hope this comes through. I had trouble posting it. CLICK:
MAGICAL STAR COCKTAIL

The waitress brought over the bread service:

IMG_0556_zpsdcb1fbb3.jpg

The bread was warm and good. The butter had the salt on that most of the signatures have, but it had a slightly red color to it. It was called Hawaiian sea salt Next we ordered appetizers. I ordered:

IMG_0558_zps62b30ae5.jpg

Maine Lobster and Sweet Corn Bisque Poached Maine Lobster, Roasted Sweet Corn, Lobster Coral, and Spiced Rum Chantilly Cream. I told the waitress that we share all our appetizers and entrées. She brought this out and put it in front of DD:

IMG_0557_zpse868328c.jpg

She said it would be hard to share soup, so she put a taste in a little bowl!! I thought this soup was very good. Creamy and tasty. I gave it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD gave it :thumbsup2 DD ordered:

IMG_0559_zps906d3a96.jpg

Artisanal Cheese Selection. This went well with her wine. I loved how each cheese had an accompaniment. I cut off the top cheeses on the list next to the plate so here is the top of the list:

IMG_0560_zps1d6dbc8f.jpg

I tasted some of these with the accompaniments. It was very good. I gave it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD loved it and gave it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

NARCOOSSEE'S CONTINUED IN NEXT POST.......

Next we ordered entrées. I ordered Butter-poached Canadian Waters Lobster Tail and Grilled Filet Mignon Boniato Mashed Potatoes, French Beans, and Herbed Cabernet Emulsion, but I cannot believe I forgot to take a photo of this. There were two lobster tails with drawn butter on the side and also a filet mignon. I never saw a photo of this on Disboards with two lobster tails. I was very surprised. I finished most of it. I enjoyed this especially the lobster tails, which I haven't had in years. I give it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD didn't taste the lobster but she ordered:
Grilled Filet Mignon - Gruyere cheese and carmelized red onion risotto with cultivated mushrooms, red wine reduction and white truffle oil which I also forgot to take a photo of. All I can think of is we were enjoying our appetizers and the drinks ;)

I didn't taste hers because I also had the filet too. She rated this :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We then ordered dessert:
I ordered:

IMG_0561_zps0446afd7.jpg

Baked Chocolate Mousse served Warm and Chocolaty with Bourbon-Caramel Sauce and Whipped Cream. This was very good. The mousse tasted a little like cake batter, but what made the dessert was that bourbon caramel sauce!! It was so good. I should have asked for more. I give this :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD gives it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD mixed my dessert with hers which was:

IMG_0562_zps49a160ff.jpg

Pecan Tart with Caramel Sauce and Chocolate Cream. After we started eating this, I noticed the other side of the triangular chocolate was decorated:

IMG_0564_zps281d72ff.jpg

So I had to take this photo to show the decoration. I love pecan pie, so I liked this. DD mixed it with my mouse and enjoyed it that way. Both DD and I rated this :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD wishes it came with ice cream.

Overall I enjoyed this meal! It was two credits each on the dining plan. The Meal total with tax but without tip was $183.79. The drinks were $29.29, which DD paid for on her credit card. The meal took about an hour and a half.

After paying we left and walked over to the main building:

IMG_0565_zpsab3d615a.jpg

We went to look in the gift shop . Then we took the monorail back to the Poly.

NEXT UP: DOLE WHIP!

The caramels from Karamell Kuche look so good! I can't wait to try them in January especially the sea salt one!
The pecan tart also looks tasty and so does the whole Via Napoli meal!

GORGEOUS photos! That pizza from VN looks like super cheesy deliciousness! :bitelip: And oh my goodness, that brie from Narcoosee's sounds absolutely heavenly!

They were great! I can't wait to try some different ones there. I saw one on Disboards - caramel and chocolate covered grapes. I may try that one.

We finished dinner at Narcoossee's and took the monorail back to the Poly. We looked around in some of the shops at the Poly, then went back to the room. DD wanted some coffee and I wanted to try the Dole Whip. I had never had one before. We went to Captain Cooks and made this:

IMG_0566_zpsefad3655.jpg

First I put pineapple, then pineapple swirl, then vanilla. I liked the vanilla. I really didn't like the pineapple ice cream. I know so many people love this and I don't know why we didn't. I would like to try the Dole Whip float next time or would like to read up on the orange dole whip to see if anyone tried that one and liked it. I liked the vanilla ice cream in this and gave it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD didn't like it and gave it :thumbsup2 We ate half of this and DD finished her coffee and we went to watch Wishes on the Poly Beach.

NEXT UP: TUSKERHOUSE BREAKFAST

GORGEOUS photos! That pizza from VN looks like super cheesy deliciousness! :bitelip: And oh my goodness, that brie from Narcoosee's sounds absolutely heavenly!

That pizza was sooo good! I would definitely order that again!

Your review of Via Napolis really makes me miss it! And your martini pictures really make me want a martini! :rotfl2: I LOVE chocolate martinis. I didn't see the cannoli martini on the menu, darnit! My DD said the same thing about the pistachio gelato - it's as good as the stuff we tried in Italy. :thumbsup2 And your Narcoossee's meal looks wonderful (and I'm imagining your entrees to look wonderful too!). ;)

Can I confess something here? I'm not a huge fan of the Dole Whip either. It's not bad by any means, I just don't think it's excellent. I tried one for the first time in Hawaii at the Dole Plantation while taking a tour because I'd read so much about it and thought it was ok. So then I tried one more at WDW just to make sure and again, just ok. I thought maybe I was the only one that thought that!

Your Via Napoli meal looked great. I can't wait to try the canoli martini and the arrancini.

I made a adr at Via Napoli after reading your review and looking at your pics. That pecan tart looks so good!

I'm glad I'm not the only one! The dole whip is not something I'll try again. I will try the Dole whip float or that orange one I forgot what its called.

The arrancini is pretty good. Overall VN is not to be missed. I will definitely be going there again for that quattro formaggio!

I made a adr at Via Napoli after reading your review and looking at your pics. That pecan tart looks so good!

WOW just looking at the photos you loved it - well wait until you get there! mmmmmm!
