After a morning at Animal Kingdom, we headed to Yak and Yeti for our 12:00 ADR.

IMG_0701_zps2adf488a.jpg

We started out with drinks DD had the Big Bamboo - Malibu Coconut rum, Bacardi Light rum, DeKuyper banana liqueur and tropical fruit juices. I just had water. I don't have a photo of this drink.

My appetizer:

IMG_0702_zps46c67a2a.jpg

Pork Pot Stickers - pan seared or steamed, soy lime dipping sauce. As you can see, I started eating these before the photo! I enjoyed these! I gave them :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD didn't try them.
DD's appetizer:

IMG_0703_zpsbeac0e91.jpg

Seared Ahi Tuna - chilled, sesame-encrusted ahi tuna, wasabi aioli, and sweet chili slaw. I didn't taste this but DD rated :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

My entrée:

IMG_0704_zps7283dac5.jpg

Crispy Mahi Mahi - filet of mahi mahi, Japanese bread crumbs, Cantonese sweet and sour sauce, jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables. This was very good. Crispy and the sauce was sweet, not the typical sweet and sour, not too sour - a good combination with the fish! I gave this :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD Didn't taste this.

DD's entrée:

IMG_0705_zpsd83161f7.jpg

Crispy Honey Chicken - tempura chicken, broccoli, carrots, honey sauce. This looked good, but I don't remember tasting this. DD rated it: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Next we ordered dessert. I had tea and DD had coffee. I ordered:

IMG_0706_zps89ae04c3.jpg

Fried Wontons - Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle. This was very good I liked how they were crispy with the sauce on it. We both rated this :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

DD ordered:

IMG_0707_zps387deb67.jpg

Chocolate Cake - Chocolate pudding cake, raspberry sauce. I don't remember this, but I think I did taste it. I was so busy with those won tons!! DD rated it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 She said it was just ok.
Yak & Yeti was pretty good. I would like to try it again, but not for a three course meal, maybe just appetizers and drinks.
This meal was one credit each on the dining plan. The cost $91.24 with tax but without tip. The drink was $8.51, paid for by DD's credit card.

NEXT UP: DINNER SANAA

We took the bus from Animal Kingdom to Kidani Village for our 5:00 ADR at Sanaa.
When we arrived, we were a little over a half hour early. We went to the ladies room and freshened up a little. Then we visited the gift shop and decided to go to the restaurant. We went in and they said we were too early, but we could go out and view the animals. We requested a window table and left. When we went outside on this long walkway, all the animals were out! Here are some of them:

IMG_0733_zps5e2d6147.jpg

IMG_0737_zps3fd8052a.jpg

IMG_0741_zps596416b4.jpg

IMG_0746_zps53a04a6a.jpg

We went inside and were still a little early so we went to the bar and ordered South African Pinotage

IMG_0751_zps20b05fcd.jpg

Here we are looking at the menus at the bar.

IMG_0753_zpsbd3e23b8.jpg

This is our waitress, Kim. She is moving our table very close to the window.

IMG_0755_zps06f66ce7.jpg

This is the table next to us. There was this bird staring inside. Kim told us his name, but I forgot it.

IMG_0756_zps473225d8.jpg

DD and the waitress, both have the same name! :) So we took this photo.
Here is the view of the giraffes from our window:

IMG_0760_zpsa6115046.jpg

Notice how dark it is getting. Here is DD's wine. We ordered more with dinner.

IMG_0772_zps9cfdc932.jpg

Here are some wildebeest.
It was starting to rain and I was a little upset that the animals would run away. The giraffes started to come closer again too. The waitress told us that we are in for a treat because when it rains they run all around out there in front of the window. Sure enough this is what happened! First, I got a video of the giraffes right in front of our window running to those trees in the background. Then I got another video of all the zebra and wildebeest running all around in front of us. The first video of the giraffes was very dark so Ill post the second video here:

CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO OF ANIMALS RUNNING IN THE RAIN

If you look closely, you can see the giraffes way in the back under a tree. In the background, you can hear all the people in the restaurant and my commentary. I thought this was such a great part of the whole experience of Sanaa.

The animals all ran around awhile, then ran for cover until the rain stopped, which was very shortly after that. They then started to come out again. So we ordered our appetizers. Here is DD's:

IMG_0774_zps3d92c7ec.jpg

Potato and Pea Samosas - with choice of Tamarind or Mango Chutney. These were very tasty. I rated them :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD rated them :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

SANAA PART 2 CONTINUED IN NEXT POST.......

My appetizer:

IMG_0775_zpsa7bfc603.jpg

Indian Style Bread Service. There were many to choose from. I chose, with the help of DD, 2 Naan and one Onion Kulcha. For our three dips, I chose, coconut chutney, roasted bell pepper hummus and red Chile Samba. I enjoyed the naan bread and my favorite accompaniment to dip the bread into was the coconut chutney. I rate this bread service :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 DD rated it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
We ordered our entrées. I ordered:

IMG_0776_zps879a8683.jpg

Butter Chicken and Spicey Durban Shrimp with Basmati rice. Both of these were excellent I loved the butter chicken. DD and I shared our dinners because she also ordered this meal but with different choices:

IMG_0777_zps209eaf26.jpg

DD had spicey durban chicken and beef short ribs with basmati rice. This is a photo of us sharing all of this:

IMG_0778_zps52a9e622.jpg

I rated this entrée :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 It went well with the wine we were having too! DD rated it: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

DD loves Indian food. I really never had it before, so this was an interesting dinner!

SANAA PART 3 CONTINUED IN NEXT POST........

The waitress was clearing the table and took our dessert order. I saw this:

IMG_0780_zpsfd7b6cd0.jpg

A hidden mickey on the table.
Also At this point, the skies cleared and all the animals started coming out:

IMG_0779_zpse84886f1.jpg

For dessert I ordered:

IMG_0784_zpsbc7aa8c4.jpg

Dessert Trio - Chocolate Cake, Tropical Fruit Kulfi, and Chai Cream
I only wanted a large chai cream, but they didn't have that anymore. So the waitress suggested that I order the Dessert Trio and get 2-3 Chai Creams on it. I didn't know you could do this. As you see, I ordered 2 with one chocolate cake in the middle. I rated the Chai cream :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 It had some spices in it that tasted like Thanksgiving. The chocolate cake was ok. DD rated this :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
DD ordered:

IMG_0783_zpseddbd8c5.jpg

Banana Kulfi Sundae - warm chocolate sauce, strawberries, and spiced cashews
I don't remember tasting this, but I know I did. DD rated this :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

DD ordered coffee and I wanted to taste the Vanilla Rooibos tea:

IMG_0781_zps02088cf2.jpg

This tea was not on the plan, but I heard so much about it and wanted to try. It was delicious, mild with a slight flavor of vanilla.

This meal was very good. I enjoyed it and the view!! The Meal was one credit each on the dining plan. The cost $76.18. I paid for the wine and tea with my credit card. After this, we went back out on the long walkway and took one last look at the animals. We all ready have an ADR to come back here in January!!!

NEXT UP: BREAKFAST CRYSTAL PALACE

I also have an ADR for Sanaa on our upcoming trip and it's my most anticipated dinner yet. We have not been here before but since we are staying at AKL it was a great opportunity to go. Everything looks so good.
Thanks for sharing!

Sounds like you like the AK area!
I'm curious to hear about your Crystal Palace breakfast. We've always liked it there. Staying the Polynesian you'll get there fast!

You may have said earlier but did you take the boat to MK? Another one of my favorites things to do.

I believe that your birdie dinner companion was a cassowary. Very cool!

Great updates
Thank you. I'll be updating in a few minutes.

You'll love the food and the view!! Did you check out the video link in the Sanaa review? I loved that view!

Coming out of lurkerville! Lovely reviews!
Thank you for reading! I'm reliving the memories and tastes!

Love AK and the restaurants there. Also love the restaurants at the AKL/Kidani! I'm going to post the Crystal Palace breakfast in a few. I love the transportation at the Poly. Quick walk to Epcot monorail and MK monorail too.
We did take the boat to the Poly two times. It was not crowded and very pretty at night.

I believe that your birdie dinner companion was a cassowary. Very cool!
Thank you! Good to know. The waitress told us each animal had a name. I don't know how she can tell one bird from the other :) Wish I could remember his name.

Our last breakfast on our vacation. We had an 8:05 at Crystal Palace. We were first in line at the turnstiles and Main Street was completely empty. We took some photos of the empty park. We arrived at Crystal Palace early and no one was there.

IMG_0818_zps060ba7e1.jpg

Except one CM. We took a few photos while we waited.

IMG_0819_zpscd0c641e.jpg

We went up to sign in. The CMs invited us all up on the porch and they had a little song to start off the day. Before the song one of the CMs came up to me and asked me how to pronounce my name. Little did we know that after the song, they would announce our name as family of the day. We got in first.

This is my first plate. Notice the breakfast pizza and Pooh's puffed french toast! That was delicious!! I also took this:

IMG_0833_zpse89e57cf.jpg

Breakfast lasagna!! I loved the custard part and cake but the fruit was a little sweet. DD thought it was too sweet.
We had lots of photos taken of us with the characters:

DD and Piglet.
We were finished and paid for and Eeyore hadn't come out yet, so we left and headed for Adventureland.

I enjoyed our meal here. We both rated it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I have a receipt for this but It says 0.00, so I looked it up on Disney.com and found that for breakfast it was $35.99 without tax or tip. Total for two of us: $71.98. We used one dining credit each.

NEXT UP: LE CHEFS DE FRANCE

How cool you had the place to yourselves- even if was short lived. I love empty park pictures especially at MK. With a 8:00 adr I can get a clear pix of the castle without anyone in it. lol

I do think CP is pretty and like the characters but that's a steep price for breakfast!

How was LE CHEFS DE FRANCE?

I don't think I would have made it pass the slushies...

I loved your review of Sanaa and the animal photos were fantastic! Such a great view. I've never tried Indian food either but I'd be open to giving it a shot! And how fun that you were the family of the day at CP!:cool1: It must have been very cool to be the first ones in!
