We will not be at MK on a day they will have the Mickey's Xmas Party, and I was wondering if that's the only way you get to see the Xmas parade. Do they have the parade with the toy soldiers during the day as well? I'd like to know what you get at the Xmas party that you don't get on a regular day in December. Thanks.

The Christmas parade is filmed during the first week of December. I have been for the past two years and have witnessed them actually filming the parade. They do it in segments to ensure they get all of the angles and shots they need. I do believe run the Christmas parade sometimes instead of their normal 3:00 parade on certain days. We happened to stumble upon the filming and I loved the parade. They do not run the entire parade at 3:00, just about 2/3 of it, and yes those adorable wooden soldiers were marching! (Love them). Regis and Kelly are there as well. They stay at the GF, I have yet to see them, but my mom has! As far as the MVMCP, you get hot chocolate and fake snow! Oh and a picture with the family. I am not all that impressed with it. Being a seasonal pass holder, I can not see paying the extra money to do MVMCP. Maybe one day when my little on is older. I have been there before and I felt that I can do the same thing during the day.

If I'm not mistaken this past year they only ran the holiday parade the week from Christmas eve to New Years. Or right around those days.

I believe the Christmas parade begins running in the place of Share a Dream every day the day after the last Christmas party- which I believe was around the 17th or so of December. I think that's right.... princess:

I'm booking a cruise and want to take the kids to the Xmas parade the day we get back. We have the option of being there at MK on Monday 12/5 or Monday 12/19. Do you think either of those would give me a better chance of catching it?

If memory serves, MVMCP wasn't held on Monday nights last year, so your best bet, if the Christmas parade is the dealbreaker, would be to go on the 19th. As noted, the Christmas parade becomes the regular afternoon parade about a week before Christmas, as soon as MVMCP stops running.

So it looks like I'm out of luck, because the dates on this web site show the last MVMCP on Dec. 20, which would mean the daytime parade wouldn't start until the 21st? I've noticed Disney's website has yet to post the dates. Any chance the dates here could be wrong?

correct!...and MVMCP is well worth the xtra IMHO. :)

They ran it in the afternoon the day of filming! They also ran some of the other shows in the day then too. We saw Mickey's twas the night before Christmas in the day time.
