If MK has EMH's, do they still do the welcome show, and if so, do they do it at 8 (8-9 being EMH), or at 9, regular park hours. Thanks!

They do it just before park opening, so in your example just before 8.

So in that case, only those with access to EMH's would see it? We're planning 2 days at MK, one has EMH's, one does now. We are on site guests

Yes.

Just know that there are various "versions" of the MK Welcome show.
They may not perform the "full" version every day of your stay.

Sometimes it can be short, other times it can be the full version.
No way to know in advance.

Various versions.
Sometimes there is no steam train involved.
It can have fewer (or no) Disney characters.
It can have no singers and dancers.
It can have no "family of the day."
It can be as short and limited as to be simply a recorded announcement
that welcomes guests to the MK as guests are admitted to Main Street at the appropriate time.

Keep the sleepy-heads away from cell phones that morning and...
it's so crazy, it just might WORK!

I have yet to see the opening show, but I really want to, so might have to get to rope drop on a non-EMH day. That's going to require lots of coffee.
