MK until 2AM - worth it?

Sorry to hijack... What are the transportation options after EMH for on-site resorts guests? The monorail stops running much earlier, right?

WDW Transportation will always follow the same rules with any park closing regardless of how late it is, it will operate up to an hour after park closing, so if the park closes at 2am (EMH) then the WDW Transportation will operate until 3am. As far as the monorail, it will normally run under these guidelines, in the event that the monorail stops running (technical issue, intentional closing, rehab work, etc.) then WDW buses will always be available as an alternative.

You will never be left stranded at WDW! :)

I love doing evening EMH. I'm going to get hate for this, but I really enjoy that there are a lot less kids VS earlier in the day. Most families turn in earlier in the evening. I'm essentially an overgrown small child, so I appreciate the shorter lines on the slow moving kid rides I like and overall lower crowds, not to mention a nicer temperature.

No hate here. I was so happy to have the little kids gone when we went for our honeymoon. :D

I have little kids and I like that there are less kids. We don't go to the movies during the day so I don't have to have kids disturbing my experience. Even kids movies we go at night or to the midnight showing.

I support restaurants with no kids policies also. On the rare occasion that I do get out without my kids I don't want to have to deal with other people's.

But on that note, my kids can go all night so we'll be there...lol.

On Labor Day Weekend, Saturday Sept 5, MK is open until 12am, with EMH until 2am. This is the midpoint of our trip and we actually have a complete rest day scheduled the next day. Nothing but 530pm dinner.

I was going to go to Epcot and stay through illuminations on this day. Now I am considering AK, rest, and then head to MK for as long as the kids (15,12,9) are happy.

Any thoughts? Will MK just be too crowded to make this worth it? Are the late night EMH lines manageable?

Ha...exactly what we are doing. 9/5 is AK during the day, go back for a break/eat, and then go to MK until it closes. Saving our FP's for the night time fun. Totally worth the effort...the later it gets, the shorter the lines.
