MK touring timing question

I have one day in the Magic Kingdom before I likely can't go again until at least 2025. I want to have a really nice meal as part of the day. I have a dinner reservation for BOG (after it goes Signature), but would love to upgrade that.

Is it unthinkable that two adults could have a 5:30 reservation at Artist Point, take the Wilderness Lodge ferry, and be back in MK by 7:30?

That's what I'd love to do but, if it's iffy, I'd rather stay with BOG and get more time in the park. On the other hand, I don't quite trust that BOG will rise to my expectations for a Signature experience...

If you are planning on doing 3 courses, I think it's going to be tough. You could certainly tell your server you'd like to try to be back at the boat dock by 7 pm, but even then, you have to hope a boat comes along shortly after. You would probably have better luck making an ADR at Cali Grill where you can at least walk back and forth and not be reliant on boat transportation back to MK.

My opinion is stay in the park.
Try for a BOG lunch ADR instead of dinner.
Or may I suggest Skipper Canteen as an alternative dinner oprtion which still keeps you in the park.

I would stay in park as well. I would not want to rush the meal and I feel like that is what would happen if you went to Artist Point.

We were hoping to try something new this time, but Cali Grille's still on the list!

I've been so curious about Skipper Canteen - it sounds totally up our alley - but I've heard mixed-to-negative reviews about the execution of what sounds like an otherwise promising menu.

Yeah, sounds like there's a consensus that this wouldn't be the best idea. The last thing I want is to rush a relaxing, romantic dinner.
Thanks all! At least now I'm confident in letting go of Artist Point. I couldn't tell if I was worrying too much or being sensible.
