MK touring over multiple days

In the early stages of planning a trip, we envision spending 2 days at MK.

In organizing our touring/planning, I find myself inclined to more or less break the park into two pieces, focusing on 2-3 lands one day, and 2-3 lands on a second day. The primary idea would be to keep portions of the park "fresh" for our second day. Secondarily, it could ease walking (depending on how you split it).

Has anybody else toured in this fashion? Did it work? What lessons did you learn? How would you recommend the park be split?

TIA for any and all response!

I recommend doing what you're planning and splitting the park up when you have multiple days to ease the walking, and also to be more able to fully enjoy each land. To crisscross the park when you don't need to will eat up a fair amount of your time and energy.

I'm still working on the best way to split it up for my next stay, so don't have a ton of advice on that front. But if any of your MK visits involve being there before rope drop, I would plan the lands that have the attractions with the longest waits for first thing on the rope drop day to minimize your waiting, and also free up some fastpasses for other attractions.

I'd say the most common is to do Adventureland/Frontierland and then Fantasyland/Tomorrowland. However, if you have small kids, you may spend more time in Fantasyland. We usually book FP for BTMRR, Splash Mountain, and Jungle Cruise on one day and 7DMT, Space, and ??? on our other day. One of the days, we rope drop Peter Pan, (I like the queue.) and it's easy to head either way from there.

We typically do 3 days in MK, the first day we try to do a good majority of the park if we can. The 2nd day we make sure we do anything we did not do on Day 1 and the do some stuff again we did on Day 1 and Day 3 we do all the things we liked the most. :)
