Well, here's the tentative plan. DH and I are going for a quick trip next month. WITHOUT the kids! We would like to spend the day at MK and then head over to MGM for Fantasmic. We've never seen this. Anyway, question # 1... What time should we head over from MK to get in line for Fantasmic? Fantasmic is at 8:00. What if we decide to go to MGM to have dinner and then get in line? ok... question 2, hmm I guess this would be 3... anyway. Next day we want to start at MGM to do RNR and TOT. TOT will be a first for both of us and DH has never done RNR (good to not have the kids this trip ::yes:: ) anyway, after those are done and a quick look around (maybe a stop at the villians store if I can find it) we want to head to EPCOT. Isn't there a boat from MGM to EPCOT? Would that be our best bet for transportation or should we hop on the bus? We're not going to be in any big hurry so thinking the boat would be nice. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! :sunny:

I would leave MK about 6pm for Fantasmic. Leave an hour earlier if you plan to eat there.
You can take the walkway or Boat from MGM to Epcot. Depends on how energetic you are. :p The walkway is pretty, but long. The boat is slow & relaxing.

Your questions 1 and 2 are tied together. If you want to eat before Fantasmic it will change your timing. I'll let you figure that one out yourself!!!!
Anyway, there is a boat from the Studios to Epcot that stops at the Swan/Dolphin, Beach/Yacht clubs, and the Boardwalk on its route. However, if you want to go to Epcot after Fantasmic keep in mind that the boats will be jammed with everyone coming out from the show. You can walk around the lake and on to the Boardwalk area and then on to Epcot. This will take about 20-30 minutes depending on how fast you walk. If you catch the boat right away the boat will take about 20-25 minutes to get to Epcot.
You won't make much better time with the boat but it is a nice relaxing ride (when it isn't jammed with people exiting from Fantasmic). BUT keep in mind that Epcot closes at 9pm so by the time you exit Fantasmic and make your way to Epcot it will likely be around closing time.
If you are truly in no hurry you can take the monorail from MK to TTC and switch to the Epcot monorail. You can take a long but leisurely walk through FW into WS and exit at the International Gateway of Epcot which will leave you right at the boat to the Studios. You may want to have your meal somewhere in Epcot before proceeding to the Studios........you don't want to ride TOT or RnR with full stomachs!!!!!! You may want to consider eating in the Boardwalk area and then head over to the Studios.
There are a lot of different ways to do this, but your plan to go to Epcot after Fantasmic will be cutting it very close.
I'm sure others will have more ideas.

wdwgoofeeee thanks for the suggestions - actually TOT and RNR will be the next day. No way would I attempt them with full stomachs. LOL

Leota thanks for the time.... that's kind of what I figured. just needed some reassurance.

My DW and I are also heading to WDW in Oct sans children...Yeah!

We are doing the same thing concerning MK and MGM. We plan to head over to MK for early entry (8am) on Thur and plan to leave the park in early afternoon for a swim and nap. Then we will have dinner at MGM and do Fantasmic. We plan to do the dinner package that allows you to have dinner and then see the show without waiting in line forever. We will be making a PS for about 6:15 and then head the "back" way to Fantasmic.
Hit those thrill rides in the morning and have a BLAST. We arrive at the rope drop grab a FastPass at R&R then ride it, head over to ToT for two quick rides and then head back to R&R with the FastPass!
Yes you can catch a boat from MGM to Epcot's back door.
Have a great time!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

inmyis - Not sure if we could still get the dinner pkg. even if I could talk DH into it. Which rest. are included for this?

LOL not sure I could get DH to do TOT more than once. RNR maybe, but not TOT. I've got all I can do to get him on it in the first place.

Hope you have a great trip too!
