MK to DTD and back

We're planning dinner at Raglan Road and a little shopping at DTD for one of our MK days; currently we're thinking we want to come back to MK afterward for CTM and Wishes, although we're playing it by ear. Using the OLP transportation wizard, it looks like the quickest and easiest route to and from DTD is to take the bus to Saratoga Springs and then walk to DTD from there. We stayed at STS previously and really enjoyed the walk to DTD, but I now assume we know nothing about what that would be like currently given construction. If anyone's done any chunk of this recently, does it seem like a reasonable plan? Would it be better/faster/easier than walking or taking the monorail to the Contemporary and then grabbing a DTD bus from there?

You can just take the bus right from MK to DS...why would you go to a hotel first?

In not avail at MK, then monorail to TTC where there will be one avail.

There are no buses from the parks to DTD (DS).

You will need to get to a resort and then go from there to DTD or get a cab, but at MK that involves getting to TTC.
- Walk to Contemporary for bus (buffer lots of time, we found that bus wait was longer than we expected)
- Bus to POR or POFQ and catch a boat to DTD
- Bus to Saratoga and walk
- Get to any resort via their normal transportation and then bus to DTD

Note the bus will drop you off the far east side of Marketplace and you'll have to get over to Raglan. Give yourself lots of travel time.

There's not a direct bus from MK to DTD.

You can transfer at Saratoga Springs or you can walk to the Contemporary and transfer there. Saratoga Springs will probably be faster if you're already familiar with the layout of the resort. You'll want to get off at the Congress Park stop.

On a side note: the OLP transportation wizard sometimes recommends routes that don't exist. I don't recommend using it.

Ooh, thanks for the tip! Which do you think is likely to be faster (or less of a hassle)--the Saratoga Springs option or the Contemporary option?

Definitely the SSR, IMHO.

Just did the bus to Marketplace last week, and with the traffic, construction, and the routes the buses take, it takes forever.

And, taking the bus info further, there are virtually no longer any regularly scheduled buses to anywhere on WDW property at TTC.

(There are a few exceptions. The most notable would be to/from Shades of Green, a US Military sponsored resort.)

Yes - that, too.
