MK to Contemporary?

Hi all... we have 9:15 ADR at California Grill and we want to see the parade at 8pm before heading to CG. Is it faster to walk to Contemporary or should we take the monorail? We'd like to be there by 8:45 so we are going to watch the parade from beginning of Main Street so we can head out when it's over. Thanks

just walk you have plenty of time the parade starts at the front too

At a fairly moderate pace, it takes us about 10 minutes to get from park exit to Contemporary doorway. Give or take a minute.

Walking is by far faster. If you take the resort monorail back to the TTC, then to the Polynesian, then to the Grand Floridian back to MK. On top of that the resort line has been pretty horrible this year and has crazy delays. The walk from the Contemporary takes me and my boyfriend about 7 minutes. I think that would be your best bet.

Plus, on the walk, you will get to see so many different sites from different angles. My favorite is Space Mountain. Also, the walkway is nicely marked and lit. And, it a good way to get up your appetite for dinner!

We love the ability to walk. It really isn't bad. On the resort monorail, though, CR is the very first stop from MK. Just to save those few extra steps for the day, I would personally take the monorail.

Unless the Resort monorail platform is jammed, I'd take the monorail. The wait for the next one will likely be only a couple of minutes at worst, and as pointed out, CR is the next stop after the MK platform. The walk isn't bad, but it will take about 10 minutes and if you have small kids you will have to cross an often busy road that leads to a backstage area.

Great info - we are staying at CR in Sept and I've heard people talking about walking over to MK. Glad to hear it really is so close.
