MK to closing then to Epcot for late EMH

We will be @ WDW at the beginning of Sept, my husband is wanting to do late EMH the two nights they are available (open til 11 at MK then Epcot the following night). Our plans have us at opposite parks those days. Is it going to be worth it for him to travel over to Epcot after MK closes to take advantage of EMH?

He would be going alone(possibly with my brother) so I can get our kiddos to bed, but just want to give him a heads up on what to expect for travel time. If it's going to take him 45 minutes to get to Epcot (or to MK from Epcot), I'm not sure he will find the extra hour in the parks worth it

I'd try to already be IN the park before EMH begins. Travel time always takes longer than I expect, it seems, and if you're leaving AFTER a park closes you can be sure it'll take forever as you join thousands of your new friends who are also trying to leave at the same time. If he could leave about an hour or more before park closing to head to the other park, he'd be in much better shape.

It should be. I would leave the 1st park about 30 minutes before it closes to beat the rush to the monorail.
If he wants to stay and see HEA or Illuminations before leaving the park (assuming both showa run at 9), it becomes less beneficial as he would have about an hour at the other park with travel time.
I would expect travel time to be close to 45 minutes gate to gate from getting on the monorail, boarding the other one at the TTC, going through the security and then the entrance.

Thank you both, I didn't even consider all of the other folks leaving at the same time (duh)-- and I'm more than sure he won't want to miss HEA/Illuminations as it will be our girls' first times. I'll relay the info and he can make his own decision on what to do

He can always just play it by ear and see what happens. Maybe it'll work out that he can walk right out and right onto the monorail. Who knows? If he needs to decide ahead of time, I'd say it isn't worth it. But if he's wanting to try just to see how far he can get, even if it means just getting one or two rides at the EMH park, why not go for it? Could be fun!

Why don't you all hop earlier in the day after your plans for that park (FPs/dining) are done. So start the day in Epcot, then switch to MK, watch HEA as a family, and he stays on for EMH while you go back to the hotel? Same but in reverse for the day you start in MK.

We were in Epcot a couple of weeks ago with EMH from 9-11p. We watch Illuminations at 9p and then headed to FEA and the wait was 40 mins. We didn't want to wait since we had already ridden it earlier in the day. Headed over to Test Track and the wait was 60 minutes. We waited since we hadn't done that and it was our last day. Got off the ride with 15 mins. left of the EMH. We decided to leave. We only got 1 ride done in the 2 hours on EMH. It worked for us but do think about that when planning.
