Once you eliminate Tony's and the character dinners, your only non- counter service places IN the MK for dinner are the Plaza Restaurant which is very casual, sandwiches, burgers, salads, etc. or Cinderella's Royal Table located inside the castle. (Ocassionally you may find Cinderella or her Fairy Godmother in the foyer downstairs but it is not a character meal where they come to your table at dinner.) Unless there is a reason you must dine in the park, may I suggest hopping the monorail or a ferry to one of the MK resorts which offer lots of very good restaurants. It won't take too much transportation time and then if you'd care to have a glass of wine etc. with dinner you'll be able to which isn't possible inside the MK park restaurants.

There are some wonderful restaurants once you hop the monorail. Some of our favorites include California Grill at CR, Kona at the Polynesian....more casual than the rest of these but very good food..., Citrico's and Narcoossee's at the GF. Of course there is also Victoria & Albert's but that's not a place to hop to from a park!

You could have lunch or dinner in the Castle, characters only at breakfast or The Plaza Restaurant.

Liberty Tree Tavern is our choice even though it is a character meal at dinner. Just tell your server that you want a quiet meal and they will seat you in a more quiet area and steer the characters clear. Or if you don't want characters at all try a late lunch seating. Make sure you make PS for any meal. We really enjoy the food and atmosphere and the break from fun at MK.
