Hi there,
Planning to go to WDW with my husband and trying to figure out our meals for the days we will be there. I am looking at quick service mainly because this is a spur of the moment trip and didn't have time to book table services. The places we would want to eat is booked. Looking at you Homecomin'!
We are going to be staying at Riverside and don't want to go to Disney Springs yet. We only have 2 days so we are wanting to spend as much time as possible in MK. With that said, where is the best places to eat Breakfast and Lunch?
TIA!

Homecoming is in DS, not MK, but they have a walk up patio and bar seating if you decide to visit DS.
MK. Food is awful, but Casey’s Corner is a good place to watch the parade if you time it correctly. Otherwise, try upstairs in Columbia Harbour House for lunch, or Skipper Canteen for TS.

We snack at the Magic Kingdom, but always take a break at sometime during the day, hop on the monorail or a boat, and go have late lunch/early dinner at one of those resorts. Our favorites are:

Contemporary - Steakhouse 71
Grand Flo - Grand Floridian Cafe
Wildernesss Lodge - Geyser Point (if I had to pick only one, this would be it!) or Roaring Fork QS

For QS Harbor House and Pecos Bill are our favorites for lunch or dinner. The Plaza is the most reasonably priced table service restaurant in MK. They have a few places in Fantasyland with breakfast pastries but we usually just eat cereal in our room before going to the parks.

MK is honestly my least favorite park to dine in. Columbia Harbor House is the only quick service we really like. And none of the sit down there appeal at (and I have tried a lot of them). Monorail to Contemporary for Steakhouse 71 if you can get a reservation. We have had 2 incredible meals there!

Jungle Skipper if you want table service at MK.

However, you can definitely get into Homecomin'. I never make reservations there anymore- we just walk in and sit at the bar and never have an issue.

Harbour House, Pinocchio Village Haus, Spring Roll cart. Also put in for a walk up at Skipper Canteen for lunch. Best themed restaurant in MK and one of the best on property. As soon as you get in just go to Adventureland and put your name in.

Try open table for DS restaurants. Also stuff opens up near the day as you get closer. Even day of w 2 hr cancel window. MK is worst food park . Maybe mobile order a waffle from Sleepy Hollow or split a cinnamon roll from Gaston. Steakhouse 71 at CR is good or boat to WL for Geyser Point.

Seems like you are looking for QS suggestions at MK. I agree with folks that recommend Columbia Harbor House. i think its the best in that category. No other QS at MK is worth getting excited about. I would just eat at columbia and otherwise snack throughout the day

I second Geyser Point.

Just return to the MK gate area and get on the boat to WL. It's a relaxing ride with breezes to cool you if you sit in the open front area.

Geyser Point is the only QS we'll eat at regularly. We're otherwise TS-only. GP is THAT good.

Makes a pleasant mini-getaway from the excitement of MK.

I’ve been wanting to try GP and that bison burger since I was there in November. I have lunch ADR at Steakhouse 71 on my full MK day - I really want to try that prime rib sandwich - but I’m thinking now that GP makes much more sense since I’m having dinner at SH 71 later in the week. Having lunch at GP means lovely boat ride, getting to check out WL again, and also not having a longer, heavier lunch when I’m having dinner at LTT

DH said the bison burger was fabulous. He was a bit skeptical about the marionberry sauce but said the combo was deeelish. I had a grilled chicken sandwich beautifully sauced and seasoned.

I dunno, maybe that open air atmosphere with cool breezes off the lake added to our enjoyment. Whatever did it, great meal.

GP is a terrific place for dinner with MK fireworks. Pretty good view as it's near the lake edge. You can get some "potable elbow exercise" 😉 and sit to watch if you linger a while at your table.

If you only have 2 days for a first-time MK visit, I would probably eat breakfast at your hotel. Saves a lot of time in the morning and unless you eat a huge breakfast, I don't see the benefit to eating breakfast @ MK. As others have mentioned, check out the restaurant list for the 3 monorail resorts, since they are very convenient to MK and give you some additional options. Your budget and dining preferences probably matter more then hearing what other people like.

For Me…..

Breakfast at Captain Cooks at The Poly - they have Tonga Toast (my favorite) and my husband gets a breakfast flat bread there that is amazing. You can do a mobile order so it’s ready when you get there.

Leave there and go to the MK

Lunch at Pinocchio Haus - we love the flatbreads there or Pecos Bill - we love the bowls there (kinda like Chipotle). I’ve always wanted to try Columbia Harbor House - I’m hoping to talk DD19 into it this upcoming trip.

Top tier:

Columbia Harbor House - best overall food, some healthier options, nice seating area upstairs

Casey's Corner - good hot dogs and fries, a single hot dog with chili cheese fries is easily a meal

Gaston's Tavern - good sandwich and cinnamon roll

Skipper Canteen - best table service in the park

Other good table service:

Be Our Guest - good food in a spectacularly-themed castle

Crystal Palace - good buffet with Winnie the Pooh characters

The other quick service restaurants either aren't good or serve standard burgers and chicken tenders.

Skipper Canteen is lots of fun! It is just like the Jungle Cruise with your skipper cracking "punny" jokes. If you don't mind a bit of a wait ask to be seated in the S.E.A. room. It's a semi-hidden private room for the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. You don't need to actually be a member. Your server will walk you into a hallway lined with library books. *be sure to read the titles on the books as they all tie into the theming. I took my Brother here on his recent visit and had a great time! There are some "secret" menu items and drinks in this room also. Pão de Queijo, or Brazilian cheese bread and a specialty beer & drink.

The Marionberry sauce is the reason I want to try the burger, lol - it’s not because it’s bison!

No doubt the atmosphere makes the food taste better...now I can’t wait ! 🤞for good weather !

Columbia harbor for a decent lunch especially if it’s hot. They have a large upstairs air conditioned room. Steer clear of pecos, and sonny eclipse.
