So next Saturday my family and I are making the trek to MK. We are going to be there for the 8:30 rope drop. That's normal for us. And we also normally take an early afternoon break. But this trip, we are staying ta a resort not near the park (unusual for us). So instead of the afternoon break, my partner and 3 year old are planning to go hard throughout the day and then probably head back to the hotel around 5. Right now, I am thinking I may try and stay til close that evening.

My disabled legs, however, may not be up to the task. so i am trying to compile a list of good places to rest a bit that evening at MK if I need to. I'm sure I will get some quick serve food with seating at some point. And the Carosuel of Outdated Progress is also a good spot to relax for a bit. Does anyone else have a good suggestion of spots to sit and relax for a few minutes in MK? Thanks

One of my pet peeves is the lack of benches in the MK, especially in the pretty green ’grass’ areas of the main hub. I realize they want the areas for the fireworks dessert parties, but what a waste of space during the rest of the day. Last trip I saw some people just laying in the grass during the day, looking like they all needed naps. I really think Disney could do better. But I digress…
Sometimes we just take the train in order to rest up for a few minutes. Other times I’ve had good luck finding a chair in the shade of an umbrella near Space Mountain exit. There used to be a nice spot near Big Thunder Mountain RR exit with rocking chairs - sadly they’re gone now for some reason.

Ride the Liberty Bell, you will see parts of BTMRR and Tom Sayer's Island you don't see normally. There is plenty of shade and it is relaxing. Ride the train, you can get off at any of the stops, easier to get around the park that way. If you can get them when no one else it there, there are a couple of rocking chairs on the porch of the building sort of across from the tree in Liberty Square. Grab a spot on the wooden stage like areas around Frontier Land and just people watch while eating a snack. I actually like to sit on them to watch parades as well. Not very shaded but relaxing. Tortuga Tavern is not always open so the tables outside in the shade are usually available. Ride the raft over to Tom Sawyer's Island, lots of shady places to sit there. You can usually just plop down on any of the planters all around the park. Not the most comfortable but a place to sit and kind of fun to people watch.

There is quite a bit of seating near Sunshine Tree Terrace/Swiss Family Treehouse. Tends to be on the busier side though.

If you're walking up Main Street from the park entrance, on your right you'll see a little side street (I think it's next to the crystal shop?) - there are some tables, chairs and benches, and it is frequently very quiet with few people.

The second floor of Columbia Harbour House is a hidden gem - it's huge and for some reason usually half-empty. Mobile order a drink and go enjoy some quiet AC at a table while charging your phone in the outlet next to you. It's heaven.
