MK Railroad - down for how long?

Yes, every time I've been at MK since the shutdown, there has been a train parked at the Main Street Station, and conductors hanging out.

they can't move it at all as they are doing deep maintenance on the track by Adventure and Frointerland

Remember it's also transportation around the park. On very busy days it saves you from fighting your way from one end of the park to another. I think it also has sentimental value for some. Personally I love it, and really miss it. It went out of commission just a few days before my December 2018 trip. I don't expect it to be running before they finish Tron. I'm disappointed they didn't opt to reroute it, but maybe there just wasn't space.

The only estimates I've seen... state it will be back running before the 50th anniversary. Yep, it's a really long time. But worth it when Tron is finished.

How would they reroute it? It's a circular track.

It was closed during our December last year. I would say at least sometime late next year. I really miss it!

Right, I was just pointing out that it is still sitting there with access to it, and there are conductors hanging out, as an invite to go up and check it out, take pics, ask questions, etc...

They did this at Disneyland while they were building Galaxy's Edge and it was a nice extra they didn't have to do -- having trains open to look at and learn about. I got to go inside the Lilly Belle! I missed the transportation aspect, but building a park with a train running all the way around it means it will have to be down sometimes, since we keep asking them to building more attractions!
