MK question

We've booked a tour at MK & have to check in no later than 7:45am. I'm thinking we should take a taxi from BWI. We've done that before at AK for a tour. But I can't think of where a taxi would drop us off. I seem to remember MK is not the same as other parks when comes to dropping off. Can anyone answer the question of where a taxi will drop us off at MK? Thx.

If you just WANT to take a cab, it can drop you at the Contemporary Resort parking lot. Then, it's a 10-minute, or so, walk to the MK gates.

The information you got was in error.
Very common to get very BAD transportation advice from Disney.

If you follow Robo's advice you should be fine. The buses start running earlier than the often quoted "one hour before park open." If you are at your bus stop around 7 AM you should be good. I think all the resorts have the monitors now so you can see when the bus should arrive. They will be running this early.

We had a tour like that at MK in December. We were at the bus stop at ASMu by 6:50am or so, waited less than 5 minutes probably for a bus, and we were at MK with PLENTY of time to spare. I think as long as you plan to get to your resort bus stop by 7, you'll be fine. I think it's the people who drive in and have to get through the TTC that have more trouble making those early tours, and that's really why the reservation CMs give that warning.

I just checked Disney's website for the park hours for September the day we'll be there. It says MK opens at 9am. Advice?

Main St at MK will OPEN to guests at 8:00AM that day.

Yeah, that "one hour before" line is untrue. It's what the CMs tell people, but it is simply not the case. Robo is right. They start rolling buses at 6:30. They may not pickup at your resort exactly at 6:30 though, but it won't take too long. You'll be fine.

Imagine if it WERE true, what would be the point of MK opening Main St. an hour before "park opening time"
if tens of thousands of WDW resort guests could not get there?

The transportation info that Disney gives to their guests (in-person, via phone and internet) is SHAMEFULLY and INEXCUSABLY wrong.

That's why I said "6:30 or earlier."
It is very rare for AM EMH to start at 7:00AM, but on those days, expect the MK buses to be running even earlier than 6:30AM.
