MK Photo Shoots Moving Back to 6:30 a.m.

Just thought i'd let you know our MK shoot in may is on a thursday. We have to be ready for 5.45 due to them opening mk early. Might be worth checking with them again.

I would recommend calling or emailing your coordinators about the time change. I am pretty sure they will contact everyone. I just received a phone call this morning letting me know that our shoot was moved earlier because they are opening the park earlier. Usually when they decide to open the parks earlier its due to the amount of people that will be arriving/or already there during that time. So this means high volumes in the next couple of weeks, which does not surprise me because everyone gets their spring break different weeks here in fl as well as around the globe. I hope everyone gets everything squared away! I too had to call my hair stylist to confirm the time change. We are doing a Sunday which already has EMH hours in the evening. If they are opening earlier the park will be extremely crowded that day. :headache:
At least we decided to go in the evening anyway, so we can have a rest day in the morning.
Congrats to all the brides to be! :bride:

Really! Going to call them now. :headache: Thanks for letting me know!

I also received an extremely RUDE phone call from Dara, stating my time would be changing from 7:30 to 6:30 (daylight savings time in March = dark photo shoot @ 6:30, not happy about this that why I scheduled at 7:30)

When I asked why these sudden changes just days out from our wedding, she replied "I don't have an answer for you, I can either change the time or cancel your shoot, I have people waiting for this day, so I need your answer"

By the end of this phone call, I was in tears. I can't believe how unprofessional that phone call was. I wish I had recorded it because it was truly MAGICAL!

I have talked to our wedding planner and she is trying to get us a definitive answer, as to why this change is being made, as the MK morning park hours have NOT changed.

What a terrible experience to have just days before our wedding! :headache:

 I cannot even begin to imagine what is going on down there! So sorry you had such a bad experience on the call!

That is just not acceptable! I presume you mentioned how rude she was to your planner? Personally I'd complain, there is no need to be so rude when you're just asking a question about something you're paying a lot of money for!

Rest assured that you won't have to deal with people like this on your wedding day. You'll have a beautiful day whilst this Dara is stuck behind a desk hating her life. :rotfl:

Yes, I made sure to tell our planner. We are spending A LOT of money and making them A LOT of money with 23 guests flying in and staying on property, ALL with park tickets and the dining plan. This has not been the fairytale experience my fiancé and I we hoping for and this isn't our first run in with Dara. About a month ago she called "asking" if we could change our MK shoot because another guest HAD to have that day and time. I outright refused. We booked the MK shoots over 8 months ago and I am sorry, why should we change our scheduled plans to accommodate another guest. If that guest HAD to have that time and day, they should have scheduled earlier than a month before their event...

So when I received this phone call about the change, but no explination, I felt like she was punishing us for not changing our day and time a month earlier, it just seems to... weird!

OK. I am seriously mad about this. I canceled our MK shoot because of the move to 7:30. Now its too late to get it back!

I just canceled it too, last week. They HAD to know the change was coming. Argh!!!!

You wanted a 6:30 time but they moved you to 7:30 so you canceled?
If that is the case, I would make a phone call!

I'm so sorry to hear this. Have you spoken with someone at Disney about this? Is there nothing they can do?

Yep. I'd had the shoot booked since last year (my wedding is in 3 weeks). They moved me to 7:30 sometime in I think January...then I was on the fence about the MK shoot since we wouldn't get night shots anymore. When it came time for our final payment (last week), I let the MK shoot go. :sad1:

I wouldn't have if I had know they were going back to 6:30!!!!

I am so sorry to hear this! How awful! I've emailed my planner earlier today to see if I can find out more, but not heard anything yet.

I emailed my contact at DFAP and she was so quick to email me back!!! She was surprised I already knew since they only found out yesterday afternoon, lol.

She said that they are now also going to book two couples at the same time and just start them at different parts of the park. I think this may open up some dates that were already full!!! That is great news!

She said they would be picking up couples at 6:15am unless they were staying at any AK, AS or Coronado resort then they would be picked up at 6am.

Hope this helps some! :wizard:

I'm a little discouraged by all the rudeness being experienced here. There is no excuse to act like that with a client, no matter what happened. Maybe everyone at DFAP had a big hunk of cranky for breakfast.

I think I might be on the opposite side from most bride with this time change. I was super excited when they moved the times to 7:30 because I don't want night time pictures. Yeah, the castle looks pretty at night all lit up, but I want natural sunlight pictures to look at for the next however many years.

Granted, I'm not getting married for almost two years, but sunrise in Florida in January is around 7:20am. 7:30am shoots were brilliant to me. I'm still hoping if they are doing two couples again, that maybe I can swing a later slot for my shoot to get sunrise/daylight pictures.

I was actually pleased about the later time too! I tend to blink a lot when the flash is on. I figured daytime photos might help with that :rotfl:

Ditto! I thought I was the only one that did that....:rotfl:

I've seen so many pictures in daylight, and they are just so darn beautiful. I knew I had to have 'em.

Yep serial blinker in the house. :rotfl: seriously my photographer will have their work cut out! Lol!
I know, some of the day time pics are beautiful!

That Dara girl must be the one that was rude to me too when I called yesterday. Also, why don't they send us conformations or anything?
