My husband and I are going to be renewing out wedding vows on our anniversary this October in Disney!!! I am so excited!!! I was wondering though if any has done the MK photo session and if it is worth the $800 for 12 pictures.
Thanks

It's definitely worth it. You actually get more than 12 pictures. The 12 pictures are in a folio, you receive the rest loose. I ended up getting about 50 pictures in total

That's good to know. We're considering the MK shoot for our wedding in October as well.

I haven't had mine yet, and when I heard $800.00 for 12 pics I was a little apprehensive, but then i thought of the experience.

How many more chances will i get to be in MK (my fave) while it is empty, and be able to climb the stairs of Cindy's castle and have the castle all to yourself for your personal pictures, and be driven down Main Street USA? And actually have pics in front of the castle without complete strangers behind you? How cool is that? :goodvibes

To me, that made the money worth it! lol :rotfl:

a lot of the brides on here, myself included, have done the MK shoot, i consider it totally worth it!! i know you dont get a huge amount of photos but where else on earth can you get photos like these!!! the link to my MK shoot is in my signature.

Thanks so much!!! I am sooo going to have the photo session now. It is like a dream come true!! I can't wait!
Shelly

Yes it's worthwhile. We did it and we are happy with the outcome.

Heads up to those of you who haven't booked yet: Rosie said that they are considering a price change at some point. She doesn't know when, or how much it will be (I heard rumors of it going up to $850, which is why I asked). But once you are locked it at a specific price, they can't raise it on you.

So book early!

As my DF and I haven't gotten married yet (gotta finish out school first--not too much longer to go! ;) ) I haven't had the experience myself, but if and when I do get married, that is the one thing that I want out of the wedding. :) Every single person's pictures that I've seen on the DIS look absolutely amazing, and I don't think I've ever heard a person say that they wouldn't do it again. (If there are any, I stand corrected.) ;)

Ok, I need help. After reading all the comments I am on the fence about the MK Photo Shoot whether to do it or not. We already have it scheduled for our wedding in March but we had decided the other day to take it out because we will have some great photos the day of the wedding and we could save some money. I don't know what to do. If I don't do it will I be disappointed? Also if we decided to go through with it did anyone do thier own hair and make up? I don't want to have to pay for them all over again 2 days after our wedding.

i'd say if you can find the money for the MK shoot do it. when else are you going to get photos like that? i did it and love our photos

Malibelle, our shoot is scheduled for two days after our wedding (I originally had it booked the day of, but then realized I was a crazy person for trying to do a shoot at 5 am, then sit around and wait for our NOON wedding; lol!). I know a lot of the hair people charge $15 or more extra for doing a MK shoot because it's so darn early in the morning. So my solution was to incorporate a veil for my wedding, so basically I can just pull my hair up and stick the veil comb through it so (hopefully!) you won't be able to tell it wasn't professionally done (not many pics from the back, I assume). I'm doing my own makeup too, just planning on paying REAL close attention to the woman who does it the day of the wedding.

Good luck!

Oh! Almost forgot. The only downside to having the shoot after your wedding is that your flowers (depending on what they are) will likely be droopy. I read somewhere on the boards that Disney can refresh them for $50, but I'm getting hydrangeas and for whatever reason they're more expensive. Rosie said it would be about $125, because they'd actually be replacing any of the drooping flowers. I thought that was pretty steep, but I'm at the "whatever! this my wedding and I want it to look fabulous!" stage, so I sucked it up and paid extra. Don't forget to talk to your coordinator or Rosie about that charge as well...

I have a question. Can they do photo shoots at the other parks too? Or just at MK? I would love to have a shoot at each park. Even though that would cost over $3,000.

I know an Epcot shot is listed as $550 on the Wish Book. I don't see anything else for the other two parks.

Is the MK portrait session only for the Bride & Groom, or can the wedding party be included?

Totally worth it!!
We had ours the morning of our VR
Saved money on Make up & flower refresh

I would do it all again!

Bride & groom only

We got about 80 photos on the cd from the MK shoot. Its such a surreal experience well worth the money. They were shooting a commercial during ours and we got 2 extra locations in MK because they had to move our shot forward an hour.
I did my own hair and make up and made a silk bouquet & buttonhole. So I got photos with hair up and with hair down.
