Hi all --

I've never driven to WDW before or stayed offsite as an adult, so the parking stuff is all new to me. We have breakfast ADR's at CP in MK on Sun 9/30 at 8:30AM. Normally we'd just hop an early bus from the resort but obviously we can't do that! Can you help me figure out the timing? Google Maps says 25 mins from our rental house to the parking lot. What time does the parking lot open? Then how much time to walk (tram?) to the monorail station? How long for the monorail to arrive at MK? And then to get to CP?

I'd rather be early for an ADR than late, of course, esp. since we can take our time walking up Main Street and hitting up the Photopass photographers. :thumbsup2 If I have a ballpark idea of what time to leave our house I'll feel better. Thanks if you can help!

ETA:
I found this at another site:
In the early morning hours when you’re striving to arrive early, the ferries and express monorail from the TTC often do not even begin to operate until 30 minutes before the official opening time. That happens to be about when the Magic Kingdom begins to admit guests at the entry turnstiles! Message: WDW clearly favors its resort guests at times like these.

Should I be concerned about not being able to make our prior-to-park-opening ADR's on time? Is there another option?

Another option might be the resort monorail. When we have been there it usually starts operating at 7AM. Just catch it at the TTC. station.

If you're planning on spending the day at MK after breakfast, I would drive to the contemporary resort and valet park there for the day, cost is $12 plus tips.
It is then a short walk, 10-15 minutes to the MK turnstiles.
Be at the CR approx 30 minutes before your ADR.
If you park in the main lot be there approx 60 minutes before your ADR.

You'll be paying $14 to park at the main parking lot anyway.

If their breakfast reservation was at Chef Mickey's, that would be fantastic...however, their ressie is at CRYSTAL PALACE. They wouldn't want to park at the Contemporary at all for that.

What the other poster has suggested is great. Take the "resort" or "local" monorail from the TTC to the MK.

If you have an 8:30 reservation, I would leave the house no later than 7:30, and probably as early as 7:15.

No, I think skelooch knew I meant Crystal Palace. I think s/he was referring to this controversial parking method: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2728010 . I appreciate the suggestion but I would hate to get there and find a no-nonsense guard and be turned away, so I think I'll just stick with the resort monorail idea if they indeed start running at 7am.

Yes, I knew you were referring to Crystal Palace, and you will not have a problem valet parking at the CR for the day. Just tell the guard you're going to valet park or to Chef Mickeys, they won't stop you.
I still think it is your best option if your planning on staying at the MK for the day.
Read goofy4tink's response in that thread, she is usually very reliable with her advise.

I would. Paying for valet parking at the contemporary and then walking to MK would totally be better than the hassle of parking (and still having to pay $14,) taking the tram to the ttc, then taking the resort monorail to the contemporary, then walking to MK.

Don't forget get to tip the valet both when dropping off and picking up.

Note that the $12 valet parking fee does not include a tip, and the money doesn't go to the valets.
