MK Parade - what to know?

Hi all,
We are going to WDW in Aug. and will be seeing the MK parade. Can someone tell me what times they run? Also, is there a good area to stand? We are travelling with 2 seniors and 2 kids. My father in law has Parkinson's so we want to sit somewhere where we get a great view and a place that is comfortable for him. I have a couple of Disney's books but they do not have detailed information about the parades. Can people get picked for the parade? How long does the parade last? Is the evening one better? ETC.

Afternoon parade runs about 3, maybe make a reservation for the Crystal Palace and sit on the porch. Spectromagic at night is about 9 and is even more beautiful..

Is your FIL in a wheel chair? If so they have special seating for people in wheel chairs with GAC's. Spectromagic (the evening parade) is not to be missed!!! It is BEAUTIFUL!!! It August there still should be nights that it runs twice. Usually at 9 PM and again at 11 PM. With a nice showing of Wishes in between (which also should NOT be missed!)

You asked for photos and uh oh, I have been on a photo posting kick lately so here they are few. In May, when we saw the 3 o'clock parade were were standing just before the bridge that goes from Liberty Square to Main Street. On your park map there is dotted line that shows the parade route. Years ago when we went with my father who was in a wheelchair, we sat in the handicap viewing area and those were perfect seats as well. Have a great time!
