Hi all!
We're headed to Orlando in April and staying offsite as a family for the first time. We bought 5 day base tickets through UT. We really want to get to both MK and EP 2 days (we will do AK but skip HS this visit) but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to fit them in. I usually use easywdw's crowd predictors when planning. Would you do EP and MK on non recommended days if the predicted crowd level for each day was a 5?? I'm just nervous because last year when we traveled during the same time frame, MK, especially was much busier than expected. Thanks for your help everyone! !

Nowadays, MK is ALWAYS busier than expected (sad to say.)

I've done Epcot on non recommended days with no problem at all. The park just seems better able to absorb large crowds. MK, OTOH, always seems much more crowded. And the standby times will be longer. Hence the "not recommended". Still doable, but not nearly as pleasant IMO.

The most likely reason for easyWDW to not recommend a park is due to it having EMH, and since you're not staying on property and therefore can't take advantage of EMH, it does make sense to me to follow his recommendations.

In addition to EMH days, the recommendations also take many other factors into account, such as the entertainment schedule (especially at MK), fluctuations in park hours, special events, and other factors (like travel patterns) that drive traffic to certain parks on certain days.

I understand the desire to move days around to make for a better flow to the week, or a better sleeping schedule, so sometimes we consider a schedule that includes non-recommended parks...but we never end up doing it. Super crowded parks are miserable. I prioritize crowd management over most other factors in my planning.

I often see people on here describing weeks that I have been at WDW as "ridiculously crowded" when I thought the crowds were minimal. Usually when I investigate, those people were at MK on a Monday or a Saturday.
