I have never seen the MK opening ceremony before. We have trouble getting out of bed early enough to make to the park. Should I try really, really hard to make it to see the show or is it not worth it?

I personally don't make an effort to see it. If I happen to be there I'll watch of course, but it's not a must-do for me.

I would say if you haven't seen it, then I would make an attempt at it. We saw it this past april, almost by accident , we were just there to beat the rush, but we LOVED it. We will plan to go back and see it again. It's one of our favorite moments on tape, and I took my favorite picture of my kids during the show. I vote for go and see it, if only once!

Yeah, I figure I should go see it at least once. I'll drag my sorry butt out of bed early enough to catch it this trip (coming so, so soon - YAY!)

We were at the MK about 30 minutes before they dropped the ropes, and we were right up front. Like I said, we didn't even know about it, we just wanted to get there early so we could get through fantasyland early, which we did. The opening of the park was a VERY pleasant surprise!

Absolutely go see it. We just happened upon it one time and maybe it was the surprise, but it delivered some special magic for me and my wife. Both of us caught a little tear. Pretty neat stuff!

God bless!

The opening show is at 8:50 am when the parks open at 9 am.
The show appears at the train station platform.
The mayor of Main Street and the town folk perform as they wait for the first train arriving with characters.

We came upon this show by accident a few trips ago. We now try to see it everytime we go, it is a great beginning for the day.

I am not sure if they do it when the Magic Kingdom has early opening though.

Unless its changed, as of last October there was no special opening ceremony on early mornings.

Hasn't changed. The show is not performed on Sunday and Thursday (due to the Extra Magic Hour). But as was stated by chuck-PA it is the other days of the week starting at 8:50am. I too agree that it is neat to see at least once.
