MK on a sunday-Yes or no??

We arrive to wdw on sat afternoon about 4 pm. by the time we get to resort it will probably be 5, check in-6, so not too much time to really do anything, either go eat dinner at 1900 park fare then DD, or go to Epcot or MGM for a few hours.

I was hoping to go to MK the first day, its kind of a tradition to go to MK first, but then i was remembering its a sunday. Isnt sunday very crowded, or will i be ok going in the first part of May??

Should we do epcot on sunday and wait until monday to go to MK, or go ahead and go on sunday. I would love to go the night we arrrive, but they close for grad night at 7pm, so i wouldnt be worth it.

Or maybe we can go in the morning then go to epcot in the afternoon if too crowded??

I personally have never followed the don't go to these parks on a certain day plan. I go with what works best for my plan. If you want to go to MK the first day , I say go. If it is tradition stick with it, if it is too crowded for you leave at mid-day.

If you are going to go on Sunday I would just get there as early as possible due the things that are most important first and see where that takes you. I've been to MK on Sunday walked down Main Street and turned around and walked right back out. It can be packed on Sunday, but it also depends on what time of year it is.

In General, Sunday is the worst day of the week to go to MK.

The reason is, Saturday is the biggest arrival day of the week. And for some reason, most people just hit the mk first. Hence Sunday is a bad day. That's not to mention that it is also emh, so you get a double whammy.

But getting there early, regardless of day, is as important as hitting the right day.

If you really want to go to MK your 1st day, I would go in the morning, then leave after lunch. Just from our recent experience in FEB (1st week of FEB) - the Sunday night at MK was VERY crowded up until EMH time. It was the 1st time the entire week that we had to stand in line for attractions. I hope you have a GREAT time!

Check the caledar MK hours that Sunday. I would only do a Sunday AM. MK does get crowded in the afternoon - but I have a suggestion ...

If you and your family are not too tired, I would make a dinner reservation for 6pm - LTT, CP, Cindy, or Crystal in MK - a sit down place. MK may clear out by 8 PM of day local people and visitors who have been in the Park since 9 AM. Many locals will be gone by 8 PM, so they can get ready for work or school the next day.

We are in MK on a late June Sunday - normal hours of MK are till 11 PM.


You may not be able to get on your favorite popular rides - but at least you will be in one of my kids Parks (the other Park would be EPCOT) - try It's a Small World, WDW Railroad, Aladin, Jungle Cruise, Hall of Preseidents, Haunted Mansion, Pooh, Snow White,Tomorrowland Transit - all will most likely not be too crowded. Splash Mtn and other coasters sometime sell out of FP by noon.

When we've gone to WDW Sunday has always been our first park day and we always start out at MK. We find getting to the park at (EE) opening on Sunday morning is just great! We can get everything done in FantasyLand with little to no waits. We do an early lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern and then head out of the park.

After reading all the travel books, making charts, making advance reservations, all so I wouldnt be at the parks on the days that it would be busiest, then out comes the EMH and blows all the planning out the window.

Could either change all the ADR and get really crappy times if at all, or go with the flow and see how it works.

Our first day was arrival day - we went to drop off luggage at ASMo and went right to MK on Sunday october 16th. We got there at about 130 and then had dinner at LTT at 430 and was able to stay very late with MNSSHP.

Sunday wasnt crowded at all for us when we got there. There was hardly anyone on main street and my kids got to see many characters without waiting.
