MK Obama speech broadcasted?

Good lord...I made a comment on this (separate thread) and Brian WDW74 whatever closed the thread down ......yet I still see threads on this not closed down. I was only curious as to the experiences of those there on the 19th.
What's the problem?

I'm trying to imagine the Presidency becoming a work-at-home type gig.

I suppose telecommuting is kind of trendy these days, but that's taking it a little far, I think.

While I cannot imagine it as a telecommuting sort of a gig, I can very much imagine it not requiring a stop in the Magic Kingdom.

Really? It is not a fine line at all. The name of this particular thread is "MK Obama Speech Broadcasted?". It seems pretty easy to understand this thread is meant to answer that question. The other threads on the topic of President Obama's visit are meant to talk about logistics regarding the visit, how to work around the visit, what do I do about my ADRs, etc. Your opinions about the President, his visit to MK, etc. really have nothing to do with these threads and their usefulness to those who are truly impacted by the visit.

Your earlier statement certainly implies that you do not agree with the President's visit or policies. That is a political statement. If you are upset because Disney is making a last minute change that impact large numbers of people, then comment on that. Really - it is not that hard to understand.
My question wasn't directed towards you. Unless, you are a mod...;)

:rotfl2: Oh my goodness, now I've heard everything!! Darn those foreigners-they have some nerve booking trips to WDW and it's all Obama's fault!! :rotfl:

Are you for real?

Um, that IS what his speech is supposed to be about. Why are you rolling around laughing??:confused3:confused3:confused3

There were a lot of political statements on the other thread. Those comments are not allowed on these boards. I suspect this one will be closed down as well because people cannot stop the political commentary.

I'm sorry you found that amusing. It was a matter of fact truthful assessment of what he is supposed to be discussing...... without an ounce of opinion or innuendo.

Do you have an issue with foreign travelers? Because I certainly don't, nor did I say anythng to that effect.

:confused3

Not sure how else to interpret these remarks.

oh, great. Not only is he making things a pain for those who were planning on being at MK today, but he is also making it easier for those lovely tour groups (that we all love so much) to come to Disney. UGH

The speech. It's about expiditing the process for getting VISAs for international travel. I believe I read he is citing Brazil as an example.

And as for finding it tomorrow...... if he's talking, just TRY to find a cable news channel NOT playing it. It's occasions like this that make me happy to have a DVR.

It's definitely a fine line. Honestly, I've typed and deleted... trying to stay in the guidelines. My problem is with Disney's actions..for a myriad of reasons. Is it permissible to discuss it from this point of view?

There really is NO fine line with regards to this thread. I was asking about whether or not this WDW event would be broadcast-not about your problem with Disney's actions.

Thank you for clarifying the obvious to those who are whining their political garbage :) In addition though, what I bolded also has zero to do with the topic of this thread!!

Anyways, I found the videos & live stream link on the White House webpage for those interested. I'll post it here since IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THE TOPIC OF MY THREAD!!

Wow, 10 points on the brain train for you-of course it's political-he is a POLITICIAN!! :rotfl: & of course it's a relevant topic-a major event is happening in the MK & I'm wondering if it will be broadcasted  Don't get your panties in a wad over a topic just because you don't like the topic. I don't like the Stitch character, but I don't get all huffy when someone asks a question about it. Could you imagine?? Darn that Stitch-he has no place doing a meet & greet in MK, causing all those lines! Now my vacation is ruined!!:headache: :rotfl:

Ummm...yup. The bolded is exactly what I already said. Thanks for agreeing. My point was that ANYTHING that has to do with a politician WILL turn political. Always. Period. End of story. I said nothing as to what I believed should or should not happen. I have given a thumb's up on other's posts, but have not said anything other than what I had written earlier. If these boards want to stay neutral and not allow any political discussion, then there should be absolutely NO mention of politicians. AT ALL. Solves the problem if you ask me.

Bringing attention to the bolded line - that is exactly what the thread is called. How does the actual BROADCASTING of the speech and what channel it will be broadcasted on have anything to do with touring the parks??? :confused3 Maybe it's a better thread for the Community board. :roll eyes:

Just to clarify - so anyone who disagrees, politically, is just "spewing garbage" in your opinion??? And you have the nerve to insinuate others are immature. :roll eyes:

In my opinion, which is basically worthless, this post should be on the Community Board since it is about the actual broadcasting of the speech and has nothing to do with touring the parks. There are already at least two other threads dedicated to that.

I didn't ask you, but thanks. If you are not grown up enough to handle seeing the president's name as it directly relates to a Disney event, you've got much larger problems than a few hours of inconvenience tomorrow.

I apologize, I think you took that out of context.

Political Garbage=spewing any opinions about politics on a thread that was simply asking if a WDW event with "He Who Shall Not Be Named" will be broadcasted on the internet or television.

Hope that settles a small part of your confusion. Now that that's settled and you obviously could care less about the broadcast, I guess my next question would be:

Why the heck are you still posting on this thread regarding info about tomorrow's WDW event being broadcasted???

There really is NO fine line with regards to this thread. I was asking about whether or not this WDW event would be broadcast-not about your problem with Disney's actions.

EXCUSE ME??????

You asked what another poster was talking about when they mentioned foreign tour groups. I answered that question directly.

Below is the answer I provided:

The speech. It's about expiditing the process for getting VISAs for international travel. I believe I read he is citing Brazil as an example.

I'm starting to think you didn't appreciate me providing a direct answer to your question.

I'm not kidding. That was a real answer I provided. Want me to pinky swear?

You are completely missing the point, but that's okay. I understand.

I'm still posting, because comments were directed to me on a **GASP** public message board. I guess if you are not "grown up enough" to handle responses in return - or only expect those who will blow sunshine and roses - then you shouldn't keep poking. For the THIRD time, I simply stated that ANYTHING that has to do with ANY politician WILL turn political. It's the nature of the beast. So, in order to save all of those hurt "fee-fees" maybe there should be absolutely NO discussion allowed about ANY politician - Disney or not.

Have a great night. ;)

Um, that IS what his speech is supposed to be about. Why are you rolling around laughing??:confused3:confused3:confused3

THANK YOU!

I wasn't sure how many other ways I could put it.

I really don't appreciate being accused of making disparaging remarks when ALL I DID WAS REPORT THE TRUTH.

Wanna laugh at the absurdity of the whole thing NOW?

Once someone stated YES it would be broadcasted this thread should of been closed.

I completely agree - especially since it has absolutely NOTHING to do with actually touring the parks or rearranging schedules for those who will be there.
