Please don't tell me to avoid the Magic Kingdom! :):) It's going to be just DH and I and July 4th will be our first day in the parks. I'm looking forward to the spectacular fireworks show and realize that the crowd will be huge that day. I have ADR's for both lunch & dinner and have my FP's booked. Any advice or tips about viewing the fireworks, good locations, expectations? We're not terribly fussy about a viewing location and don't want to sit for hours to hold a place, but would like a decent view of the show. TIA

Was there last year on the 3rd and it was slammed. Pretty much try to stake out a spot an hour beforehand - assuming the CM's don't already have it blocked off. I always carried a poncho in my bag because of the random showers Orlando is known for so I usually just sit on that.

We typically go to WDW the first week of July and we always find a spot in the hub - just make sure your not too close to the castle otherwise your neck will be sore from staring upwards.

I suppose it also depends on when and where your dinner ADR.

I have a similar question. I have a 7:30pm ADR at The Plaza on July 3 and am wondering where I can head afterwards to watch. If I just start walking towards Main Street is there a point where I can just stop? (I've seen Wishes from BLT and Cali Grill, but never from inside the park.)

Wow...without Wishes experience? (Don't let this madhouse keep you from ever properly experiencing Wishes from inside the hub...its a much less crowded experience ;). )

It's basically...imagine how many people you can squeeze into the hub, then double it. CM's attempt to keep some walking paths clear, because everyone trys to stop an watch, but its nearly futile.

The show is designed to be best enjoyed when you are in the hub, between Main St and the castle...but the unique, occasional perimeter fireworks makes for oK viewing at more park locations. Fantasyland, Liberty square and Frontierland, towards BTMRR can be enjoyable.
