Hello! I'm hoping someone can give me some suggestions for our trip to Disney World in June. This will be the first trip for our children, ages 6 and 9. We will be arriving late morning and after checking in I'd like to hit the MK. It is not an early day at that park, but I know we will be entering during peak visitor hours. I'm wondering if any of you can make suggestions as to what are plan should be for "attacking" the park and getting the most out of the afternoon/evening. We will be returning to the park later in the week, so we don't have to do it all at once. Are there any "lands" that are less crowded at noon when we first will be entering the Kingdom? Thanks for any help you can give!

Hi Soupermom and welcome to the boards!

You might also want to check out the Theme Parks board. You'll learn all kinds of neat info over there. It's amazing how much everyone around here knows.

Sorry that I can't really answer your questions though.

OK- you can try this-
Enter the park, and go get a fast pass to either Space Mountain or Splash Mountain. On your way, check out the waiting times on the board at the end of main street. This will give you a good idea of what you might be in for. You can try to get in a lesser attraction while you wait for your fastpass time. Something like Country bear Jamboree, or the Tiki Room. MAny of the lines go down dramatically during the fireworks. I have walked onto rides that had long lines earlier in the day. Everytime you are elligible for a fastpass, go get one. Parades also tend to thin the lines out some. I would pick up a copy of the Unofficial guide to Disney World. Their touring plans actually work.

Welcome to the DIS, Soupermom, and apologies to you. The folks who visit these boards know just about everything about Disney, but best to get info like this on the planning boards. Here is a menu link to all the boards, maybe run that question by on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board, right at the top of the menu, I bet you will get some great input. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

PS: If you are near Chicago, keep your eye open here on the Community Board for DIS meets that we get going every so often, lots of Disney nuts show up. :)

In June, the odds are that the MK will be very crowded if you arrive shortly after noon. You could take advantage of the afternoon parade to get in a ride or two without an extensive wait. I guess you will probably have to plan on waiting a lot.

Fantasyland will be packed. Maybe Small World won't have much of a wait. Mickey's Philharmagic may have a long line, but it moves quickly once they fill the auditorium. Pirates may not be too long.

Soupermom--go down to the link for my website at the bottom of my siggy. There is a menu there with a link to a page with a suggested itenerary.
Also..check out
Passporter.com. It's also full of info and lots of friendly folks willing to help out.

Good luck!
