MK / HS 1 day FP help

My DS (13) and I will have a day to visit the parks after a conference. We have been multiple times but it has been several years. We know our favorite rides but not sure how to navigate the best way to use them between the two parks. HS has EMH in the evening so we were thinking of going to MK first - but that isn't a must. With EMH both parks still close at the same time - 9 PM and neither have AM EMH. (This is early November and crowds shouldn't be too bad but it is on a Sunday. Right now MK is the best park based on crowd calendar - obviously HS isn't since it has the EMH)

Here are our favorites at each park:
MK - Space Mountain, Pirates, Jungle
HS - Rock n Roller, Toy Story Mania, Star Wars

Also, based on our above favorites - would you recommend trying to ride SDMT? (There is a possibility we may be coming back December 2015 with the rest of the family - so I don't feel any urgency but wondered how it compared)

Honestly, I'd start at DHS so you have better crowds at night. Plus your must ride rides at MK will be much easier to get on at night than the 3 at DHS. You can hit DHS at RD and knock out Toy Story quickly. The one negative to this idea is you won't get to see the osborne lights. If that's important to you, keep your original plan and use your FP at DHS.
