MK hours for December 3

Just logged onto WDW's website and noticed that the MK was open until 11:00 pm on Saturday, December 3rd. Is this unusual? I've been at this time of year before and I don't seem to remember the park being open that late.

Just wondering about crowds.

I've noticed this too - I think, historically, that the Christmas Day parade on TV is taped on that day? So my guess is that the park is PACKED and that they think it's necessary to have later hours. Can anyone confirm this?

I looked up historical park hours and for the last 2 or 3 years Saturdays in December the MK is open untill 11 or midnight and has 2 Spectros so I think that is common. I think a lot of people who live within an 8 hour drive come for weekends in December to see the decorations so weekends are busier than the rest of the week.

I don't think that it is unusual for a Saturday.

First Saturday after a Thanksgiving weekend.
People that may just travel the weekend may want to see all of the Holiday decorations.
The most of the locals may visit the first Saturday after a Thanksgiving weekend.

And it is a Saturday.

Sometimes they will even extend MK hours a day or two before a certain day arrives if it looks like a lot of people will be at WDW.

Every year when I go to WDW in December, I bring back the the parks guide times and last year, Saturday was open until midnight. Now I don't know how this compared to the WDW website of times last year, but I usually just look at those and use them as a guide.

I have been using the actual times that I pick up on the printed sheets from the previous year to plan.

I know they may change, but they have been a pretty good guide.

Thanks everyone! Now that I think about it, I've been there twice when they were taping the Christmas parade and the park was open late (and crowded), I think maybe I was remembering not being able to stay awake that long
